If Povetkin keeps winning it will raise Wlad's stock. He has looked very good post Wlad and is in best position to still get big fights against quality opponents. If he faced Stiverne/Wilder and won it would be a big feather in Wlad's record.

Chagaev looked like complete garbage against Oquendo so I doubt he adds many more quality wins. His time is past. He was a good fighter with a solid resume but injuries have ruined him.

Haye could have but the farce his career has become really prohibits him from really emerging as a threat a second time in the division. I'll believe he will fight again when I see him in the ring. And hopefully against a top 15 guy and not some Wilder level comp.

How good did LaStarza, ****ell, Charles or Walcott look after Marciano beat them?

They were great competitive fights. Both opponents were great on the night and thats what matters.

Marciano won fight of the year 3 times in a row beating Walcott I, LaStarza II and Charles II.

I'm sure you're the guy that said Wlad would duck Pulev, and when the fight was confirmed said he'd get destroyed, your opinions on this forum are basically zero... :hi:

It is fairly common for the currency of a champions opponents to rise after his retirement.

For example in the case of Lewis, Klitschko, Rahman, and Briggs, all went on to hold titles after his retirement.

hmmm povetkin beating charr raises nobody's stock, it reduces it.

charr is a nothing, who never should have fought above national level.

only on planet kliittaard does fighting bums "raise your stock"

    Lets put it this way.

When Klitschko is out of the game, somebody will have to be the number one man in the division.

Perhaps it will be somebody he has beaten and perhaps it won't be, but given his age, it seems likely that some of his younger victims will have some tangible accomplishments after he beats them.

Marciano was a young champion among an older crop of contenders, so unsurprisingly he outlasted most of them.

Wlad is now an old champion among a younger crop of contenders, so expect a couple of them to outlast him.

What I am saying, is that somebody would be the #1 heavyweight if Wlad was not around, and somebody will be the #1 heavyweight after he is gone.

You can't get round the remorseless logic of that, when assessing the opposition of any dominant champion.

I certainly wouldn't call someone who relies on his brother to beat retirees he cant as dominant, but your logic is not a problem outside that.

    - Carl Thompson an old, mediocre guy destroyed the glass-chinned Haye.
    ( W. klitschko couldn't)
-Chagaev and Povetkin are two typical unathletic fighters
    without outstanding skill.
    I think Haye's,Chagaev's and Povetkin's future carrier can't
help wladimir klitschko's legacy at all.

Funny but the klitschko fans' most important argument is his opponents incredible athletic talent and size.
    But what can we see?
Haye was only 210,5 pounds for 6'3 " (?) against wladimir.
(Haye was a skinny chicken against w. klitschko)
Povetkin and Chagaev are unathletic and shorter than 6'3".
    W. klitschko isn't the champion of the skilled,hard-punching,gigantic
supermen. It's just a propaganda by some brainless klitschko lickers.
By the klitschko lickers argument these are **** wins because
haye, povetkin, chagaev were SMALL,UNATHLETIC AND NOT TOO
    SKILLED FIGHTERS against wladimir.
I have an idea.Try to ask the klitschko fans about these wins
    ZERO sport value!

Who was the champion of the big athletic and skilled fighters?
IRON MIKE TYSON he beat the 6'5" ripped muscular unbeaten
Tony Tucker and he destroyed the tall 247 pounds muscular
ripped to the bone reigning champion F. Bruno.
(Just saying he beat these guys better than Lewis.
Tyson beat Tucker by wider point difference than Lennox.)
The idiota who can say Bruno wasn't skilled maybe don't know
    the Bruno-Lewis fight.)
wladimir klitschko's best tall opponent was this petite, fragile little
glass-chinned 210,5 pounds coward david "who?" haye.
