The post-Fury/Joshua/Wilder era is taking a while to take shape. Parker vs. Kabayel probably works best as a fight for a belt. Real pity Dubois walked away and didn't quickly reschedule the Parker match-up.
Parker beats Kabayel, because I'm a Parker fan and can't handle the alternative Usyk beats Dubois, we have seen that fight before and Dubois lost every round and literally had nothing for Usyk except low blows. Hrgovic over Sanchez, but this was the trickiest one for me, a healthy and fit Sanchez would UD Hrgovic, but I'm not convinced that Sanchez exists any more, while Hrgovic has had better recent fights at a higher level.
I think Dubois v Usyk 2 will be a very different fight to the first one. I'm not saying Daniel gets it done, but he'll go in there with far more self belief and will look to banjo Usyk out of there early. It will be interesting, very interesting.
You never know. Usyk is getting older. I am nearly 40 years old and he isn't that much younger than me. The long bouts of inactivity (as promoters try and make him fight every opponent twice) and his susceptibility to body attacks strengthens Kabayels chances the longer it goes Don't write off Kabayel.
Hrgovic beats Sanchez - not because Hrgovic is great, but he's still way more proven than Sanchez for good reason (Sanchez was way overhyped for someone who'd done basically nothing - Hrgovic is still overhyped too, but is at least proven to be highly durable even if he lacks the power for KO's or stamina to win decisions at the very top level). Parker beats Kabayel... Again, when one fighter is so much more proven than the other, you have to sit up and take note. Parker is very durable, very experienced and fights to a plan very well - does Kabayel have the ability to switch up enough, at a high enough level, to force the issue against someone as good as Parker? We just don't know yet. Usyk beats Dubois - compared with their first fight, their respective condition has gone in opposite directions, and Dubois has improved fullstop... But... That first fight was such a dominant win and Dubois had so little besides deliberate fouls that I just don't think he's ready even now for what Usyk still has - UD or possibly another retire/quit.
It’s also Usyk’s seeming vulnerability to body shots, going up against the meanest body puncher in the division.
