If they fought later this year, who'd win: JOSE ALDO vs FRANKIE EDGAR at 145lbs...

Say either Maynard beats Edgar, or Edgar simply wants to go down and reign in a weight class he could seemingly still make quite comfortably.

    Say Aldo beats Kenny Florian.

Jose Aldo vs Frankie Edgar for the UFC featherweight title in a good few months time.

    Call it :bbb

I cant ever see this happening unless Aldo or Edgar completley leaves 45 or 55 respectively .

I called it before Penn Edgar 1 , that the UFC should be lining up Penn vs Aldo @55 as a " super fight " , since then Edgar has taken Penn's mantle as the top dog @55 but had a stumble against Maynard (who IMO beat Edgar) , so its really up in the air as to whether these type of fights can take place .

I honestly cannot call this fight , i beleive if Franky wanted to go out there and wrestle Aldo to a decision he could ............. i also beleive Aldo's boxing and muay thai is so superior to Edgars if he wanted to score a KO at some point he could ............. , for arguments sake id be leaning towards an Edgar UD but like i say i havent got a clue , its a true pick em , and an excellent stylistic clash !!!

I think Frankie will avoid the early onslaught from Maynard next time and win handily on points.

I think Also Vs Edgar at 145 is the fight to make if they both win their respective fights against Grey and Kenny. Frankie is a small 155lber, but I don't know whether Dana would want one guy holding two belts, especially as he's trying hard to legitimise the 145lb division, and if the champ is up at 155 fighting Guida/Miller/Bendo than the division is fairly stagnant.

I think Frankie, who is obiously a brilliant 155lber, should stay there until he loses and the opponent is so formidable he cannot bring himself to try and challenge him again. I don't see that happening for the forseeable future to be honest, and I think Zuffa will hope their champion will eventually meet Gilbert Melendez.

For Aldo, with Florian, Chad Mendes and Hioki on the horizon, he has enough on his plate to worry about. He and Edgar can meet down the line once Aldo outgrows Featherweight or leaves the division as the all-conquering champion/ex-champ.

Edgar would not be an undersized lightweight in this fight. I think he takes Aldo down quickly, because I don't think he'll want to test his stand up here. I would have to say Edgar ud.

Edgar would be really undersized Aldo is bigger than him even at FW. Even Cruz is as big as Edgar. I don`t think Aldo could ko him, so he would win on points. And maybe we will see this fight Aldo is pretty big for a FW and he is young, so when he gets older maybe he has to go to LW

Edgar on points unless he plants his feet and mixes it up. Then Aldos vicious strikes would start finding a home. Otherwise Edgar will pop and move like an energiser bunny.

Edgar would **** Aldo. Seeing how Aldo gasses, it would be disastrous from him against a jackhammer like Frankie.

Edgars wrestling and boxing would win it, he may even stop Jose late.

Aldo is better at more things and is better at the things he's good at than Edgar is at the things he's good at. I'd take Aldo.

Im overweight today because I didnt take a **** yet. Excuses, excuses

If you think that a guy like Hominick could give him trouble, a stud like Edgar who outstruck BJ Penn and took him down easier than anyone has would dominate him.

Edgar has just as good boxing skills as Hominick but he is an elite wrestler to boot who will never get tired and has a proven heart of a champion.

Its obvious you haven't followed Aldo. That was the only time I can recall he looked bad in the cage. Aldo is a better striker than Edgar and if could land those soccer pro kick on Edgar's legs its over.

Hahaha..Ive followed Aldo and he has two good guys in his resume Brown and Faber and both are pretty much done. First time he stepped up in comp with Hominick (granting has improved the last 2 years) he wasnt blowing anyone away. Why, check out the 2nd round. Mark can hold up to his striking. Only problem with Hominick is that he really didnt have much power and has a weak base.

Edgar embarrased BJ in the rematch, blew him away. Are you telling me that Aldo will run through BJ as well?

Ill let you into something, Wrestling is 65% of this game and if you have good striking with it, you're pretty much a champion....ooops Edgar, Cain, GSP, Jones.. and Sonnen came 30 seconds away. Think about that. You can put Maynard in that group coz that man is half beast.
