If they fought next month, what chance would Bute have of beating Kessler?

Man you are a nut hugger if there ever was one :good

Try to be objective. Bute is not ready for Kessler at the moment.

Everybody knows that Calzaghe is moving up to 175 lbs...because of Bute...

Yap! Joe has a soft spot for Lucian, so he decided to clear the field; the alternative would have meant Calzaghe unifying and Bute losing that title.:|

More like a 30% chance. Bute showed some weakness in the Barrios fight (such as holes in his defense) that Kessler would exploit. Luckily Barrios hardly had any defense and was able to KO him, Kessler would not give Bute the same opportunity, but instead will most likely be the in the exchanges of his punches.

Well if they fought tomorrow Bute would have a very good chance - but that's because he is training for a fight and Kessler is on vacation :)

I have it 25% - but much depends on how Kessler takes the defeat to Calzaghe. He seems alright, but we wouldn't know until he steps in the ring again.

i would of said none but after his loss to calzaghe i gotta give bute a 10% chance cos kessler might lack a bit of confidence next time he steps in the ring

I think it would be a much closer fight than most people give it credit for, but that Kessler would find a way to pull out a win based on experience level. Kessler might have trouble controlling Bute with his jab because of Bute's length. Also, Bute does punch a bit harder IMHO. Still, Kessler has better stamina, and is just enough better defensively that I can see them staying close through about 6 to 8 rounds, then Kessler pulling away for a points win.
