If they were not such good friends who takes Monzon vs Galindez

Good post RC, i was just going to post in this thread and realised it's an old one! I do think i might be edging towards Galindez a little bit now. It's just that, like you say, against a boxer, he can be a bit unpredictable and unleash something that's hard to defend against, and thus, does the scoring. The only thing that puts me off picking Galindez a little is Monzon's dictating the pace. But i think i'll give the benefit of the doubt to the proven 175 man here.

You've made me want to watch Galindez-Ahumada now, it's been a while!

Red it's not on youtube!!! I'm gutted there, haha. I've been watching a bit of Galindez againat Ray Elson and Marvin Johnson again though. Even though you have to be patient watching him at times, it's just quality to watch when he starts unleashing, because it just looks different.

Anyway, sorry for getting back to you a bit late there.

 

i hope you're not thinking of the galindez who lost to mike rossman.he was awful and looked like he'd trained for about an hour for the fight.
when they had the return the real galindez turned up and punched rossman all over the ring.
chalk and cheese had nothing on galindez

 

It's ok bud...I don't know why certain vids disappear like that..it was once on there. It's like the Pastrano-Johnson bout (all 15 rounds)..it disappeared for a while only to recently resurface.

 

I didn't think sociopaths could form close relationships?

 

There's a pic floating around somewhere in cyberspace, I saw it..of Monzon and Galindez on the town in Paris, sometime in '75, and the two of them look like the worst badasses...Galindez is thuggish looking in a primitive sort of way, and Monzon looks like a coldblooded killer..these are two favorites of mine, btw, but I'm being honest...you'd never want to cross these two guys.

I agree, just based on that picture (lol)..no really, if Monzon had beefed up to lightheavy, I'm of the opinion he would win a close one, in a most cruel way, scoring accurately with the one-twos and laying a beating on Galindez..it would be a one time sort of thing, IMO, with Monzon not venturing up to lightheavy again..he just probably knew Galindez inside out, and would inflict some damage from outside, but the going would be rough at times, and not worth straying from the middleweight limit again.
