the truth is that between the achievements of Ali and Lewis there is a gap about as wide as the Colorado Canyon. Ali won the Olympics at the age of 18, Lewis, at the age of 19, did not win even a single fight at the Olympics. Lewis' biggest win came against 37-year-old style-matching Evander Holyfield in a yawnfest who had previously looked terrible against someone like Vaughn Bean and had been beaten by John Ruiz as badly as he had been beaten by Lennox Lewis. And this is Lewis' BIGGEST success in his entire career. The fact is that Lewis missed a lot of strong guys in his career, he met Holy and Tyson much too late, he didn't fight Holmes, Foreman, Bowe, Ike, Moorer, Byrd, Ruiz, Wlad, and he didn't rematch two rivals he he had controversial victories - Mercer and Vitali, he lost against the likes of Rahman and McCall in terrible style, and he didn't look good against the likes of Briggs, Bruno, Tucker, Akinwande, Mavrowic. Botha, Rahman 2, GoĊ‚ota, Tyson's wreck looks ok, but how does it compare to Ali's victories over Frazier, Foreman, Liston, Patterson, Terrell, Quarry? it's not close, it's not even miles away. Did Lewis have a victory anywhere near as impressive as Holmes over Cooney, Tyson over Spinks, Frazier over Ali, Foreman over Norton, Liston over Patterson? no... the only ATG is the broken, 37-year-old Holy, with whom he won by one point, the second one is probably Klitschko, who lost to the doctor and, of course, did not get a rematch, the third one is Mercer, who is probably not an ATG and fought with Lewis to a draw and, of course, he did not get a rematch. rematch. Damn, Bowe at the Olympics and all those in between don't convince me because unfortunately I remember his fights well, his career and I can't imagine some McCall coming out and knocking out prime Ali, Foreman, Tyson or Holmes with one punch in the second round

No. Great fighters are great in their prime, sometimes before and after. Ali was past his prime in the 70's and still dominated the division. The best heavyweight era of all. That's why he's one of the GOATs.

Lewis had like one, maybe two fights where he was past prime. He wasn't dominating the division while past his prime so hardly relevant to bring up past prime losses. Ali eventually deteriorated to the point where he was losing every fight and lost 3 of his last 4.

Lennox has always been one of my favorite fighters. I remember after that loss papers, friends and others said he was shot and finished. But I didnt wanted to believe them because i knew that Lewis just underestimated Rahman. The rematch confirmed my opinion.

If there had been this forum I think most of members would have said that Lewis was finished and that Rahman would have won even the rematch.
