Serious business people you talk up this guy like he is the boxing wizard, and he has a big fan base now and blah,blah,blah....
HBO is out to attempt another PPV with Golovkin and it better pass that 150,000 mark he had with David. If this eats dust ,don't blame Jacobs because nobody knows him like that, so don't be screaming Haymon and Daniel didn't sell it.

When this fight flops bad, like Shaq in the paint it will be all on the "NEW FACE OF BOXING" Gennady Golovkin!!!
Canelo and GBP will dump down GGG and K2s throat in negotiations and will probably lower the guaranteed purse. So you guys better get out there and pay like his name was Floyd Mayweather Jr. Say what you will about Floyd but people paid that money. Will people pay that money for Golovkin? We will see.

A flop implies it loses money. Mayweather could out sell GGG 3x and still lose money. If the promotions spend a ton of money on this fight and it doesn't sell high then I guess you could call it a flop.

It would be great if money was never brought up again on this forum. Definitely not when it's about a guy named Floyd.
But you can bet your ass that money will be the first thing brought up in that case (because it IS about money), and will be a major topic immediately after the fight.
Surely the Canelo fanboys (all 5 of them) will start thread after thread about how Golovkin doesn't deserve 15m for the fight, and so will the haters.

What's considered a success, if it does 300k that's still pathetic for the new PPV king, Jacobs is a much bigger name than Liam Smith

This doesn't do 400k and its a flop

This doesn't beat 200k forget about Canelo, he doesn't need to fight a giant to make peanuts

200k will be considered a success, it's supposed to be free on HBO.

I'm not sure what's worse, people desperately wanting their favourite fighter to sell a large number of PPVs or people desperately wanting the fighter they hate's PPV to flop.

When did boxing stop being about boxing?

Yeah when did folk get so interested in bank balances,as it happens I don't think K2 wanted this a pay per view which is why negotiations dragged on and on?

this shouldn't be PPV, but whatever, if HBO don't mind another financial loss after Kova-Ward, more power to them

A lot of these ggg fanboys stream all their fights. I'd be surprised if this does over 200k
