who would be the face of boxing at the end of 2010?

With a great fight (hopefully) in the wings between May and Pac, I think of the wars before my time where those final 3 rounds made all the difference.

If the fight were to last past the 10th I could easily see it going the distance between the two.

    My questions are such:

Mayweather seems to have the stamina and endurance for 15 rounds, does he have the heart for it? When his finesse begins to dwindle, could he dig deep and find that other gear?

Could Pac throw 1400 meaningful punches in a fight? Over 15 rounds of boxing that would equate to throwing a punch ever 2 seconds (actually a little less)? We all know he has one hell of a motor, but would his engine seize?

When thinking of bestowing a fighter with ATG status, is this an important distinction to make?

Pac's not going to throw 1400 against someone who's actually trying. That was a one time thing. He threw significantly less vs Cotto who he totally dominated for 10 rounds.

The first couple of rounds would be boring and more injuries due to more damage with fatigue.

Not including the Clottey fight, Pac averaged 68 punches per round at welter and light welter. Extrapolate that out it comes to 1020 over 15 rounds. Okey so a punch ever 2.6 seconds, still not something easily written off. I cant believe he throws more punches now then he ever did as a 120 pound kid.

O and about boring, personally I find that opinion laughable. Boxing used to be a mainstream sport of casual fans. Fans like KO's (it pains me to say), and the 13, 14, and 15th round provide just that kind of excitement. Cumulative damage over the life span of a fighters career, sadly would be increased.
