If Buster Douglas had being facing Joe Frazier in Jamaica Instead of Foreman?
    Does Frazier still lose?
Different opponent to the rampaging Foreman so could Joe walk out unbeaten ?

Toss a coin. We know how far down that rabbit hole Joe can go. We can only speculate on Buster in a 15 rounder. Joe over 15, Buster over 12 would be fair money.

Joe comes in over confident as Tyson did ,he's gunna struggle to get going. But as Tyson almost came back to floor Buster ,Joe's got more chance of still being there and on the attack As u say if its 12 maybe Douglas gets a decision .
But over 15 ?Could be a comeback win here.

Frazier would destroy him, different class, Tyson was in far worse shape against Buster than Joe was against Foreman, George would have destroyed Buster also, Buster didn`t have the power of George to stop Frazier walking him down, Joe would throw far more hooks than Tyson did, we never saw Buster have to face that kind of prsessure, no way could Buster take the hook that decked Ali, and Frazier caught Foreman early on with a similar shot, Foreman was awesome, he could push Joe away on the inside, Buster didn`t have that strength, and he kept over committing wih the jab v Tyson that`s how he got caught with the uppercut. Frazier`s head movement was far better than Mike`s was v Buster, it`s just that Foreman kept throwing bombs while Buster would back off. Ali could go toe to toe with Frazier because of his chin and he caught Frazier with some hard right hands, but Joe kept coming and Buster didn`t punch harder than Ali.

Frazier came in awful shape in Jamaica, so I’d go with Douglas. Frazier’s hook if it lands flush could still end Douglas, but Frazier in Jamaica was almost 10 lbs overweight and was slower than molasses.

I got Joe winning but not in a easy fight .,Remember that guys like Buster Mathis and Jimmy Ellis gave a young Frazier a little boxing lesson. This is a over confident Frazier facing a excellent boxer on his Best night. Its nor going to be easy .I reckon Smoke's going to have to dig deep to get the win .

Yeah I agree with this unless people are picking based on name recognition. This is not a great Joe Frazier.

I think 68-70 Joe wears him down and stops him in the double digit rounds. But the Frazier who lost to Foreman, I wouldn’t favor to beat very many upper tier guys. He just didn’t look the same even against mediocre comp following FOTC.

The Douglas that beat Tyson probably beats Joe in 5-8 IMO as much as I hate to say it.

Even though I'd got Frazier winning ,coming from waaay back ,this is a plausible scenario. No way does Joe dominate this fight ,no way. Buster may have being in a different world altogether from GF but he has the tool's to really hammer Joe in Jamaica.

Yeah. Even in beating Daniels and Stander he didn’t look to be the old Joe at this point. I think Foreman beats him regardless of point in time, but Joe of this time couldn’t compete at a top level. Yes he still beat Bugner, and could probably still beat many light hitting slicksters, I don’t think he would fare well any longer against a solid puncher with a strong jab. To me Douglas would cause him problems. I would like to pick Joe to gradually wear him down I just don’t see it as the most likely outcome here....oh well lol

TBF while Tyson was not prepared for Douglas the way he should have due to mitigating factors and transitions and complacency....this performance by Douglas isn’t a fluke in my mind. He would be hell for just about any HW from any era on this night. I don’t think he is great, but on a night he captured greatness he won’t be an easy fight for anyone I can think of.

Frazier was far better by the time he fought Foreman than Tyson was vs Douglas, he had far more left than people say, he just came forward against a monster, Douglas fought well vs Tyson but not great, he couldn`t have taken Frazier`s pressure at all.

    Oh my...oh my...
Tyson was still at least in his physical prime even if his mental and emotional decline was beginning to dwindle. Tyson just no longer focused on his repertoire and became one dimensiobal and his defense all but disappeared.

Frazier to me was much farther gone, out of shape and lacking the physical tools that got him to this platform.

Tyson wasn`t sharp at all, his body had no vim, he hadn`t trained, it doesn`t matter that he was young if he didn`t train, he didn`t look sharper than Frazier v Foreman and Joe from that night would have beaten Tokyo Mike, he was dreadful, I thought he was stoned or something.
