It was his destiny, he would have went to the can the following year. The guy was born a piece of ****, with boxing talent. IMO, He would have ****ed it all away eventualy, it was no mistake.
He probably would have stopped Moore in a tough fight. I'd favor Duran over him. Leonard would have kicked his ass. Hearns would have brutally KO'd him, and Hagler would have beaten him to a pulp. Assuming he didnt fight any of those guys, McCallum would have eventually come around, and The Body Snatcher woulda tortured Ayala and stopped him. Then his career would have ended in the late 80's with Julian Jackson knocking his head into the 3rd row.
Off the subject, But I see your from Oxnard. What's the deal with Francisco Bojado? Is he retired? had ALOT of promise at one time.
Francisco Bojado? Nah he ain't from Oxnard bro.. I think he is from East L.A. Last I heard about dude tho, he was into MMA. Maybe training fighter's in standup, or training in it, But he is involved. (Not for sure certain tho, Rumors) I wondered what was up with him myself? Last time I seen Bojado was in De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7 (He worked with oscar to prepare) Oxnard is defo a hotspot for Boxing. we got alot of good up & coming talent these part's. Home of "Grandpa" Garcia & Fernando Vargas (805) to be continued with V. Ortiz.
I remember something about Oxnard & Bojado. Maybe he went there to train with Fernando for a while. He even got the same armband tattoo like Vargas. Yeah, Ortiz looks real good, Hot prospect.
Next was stablemate Davey Moore. Tony would've dropped him relatively quick-without the thumb. Duran then steps up, Tony KO's him in five. Duran gets a later rematch and is KO'd again. Ayala would've overrun Hearns a couple of times as well, then Tommy would've taken the little bull late in a rematch. Tony also destroys countless other Jr. MW's, including Mugabi, McCallum, Kalule, Benitez, Green, Scypion. The one guy I think he could possibly lose to though is Jackson. Against Hagler? I'd give prime Hagler a slight edge. If it takes place post-Hearns, i take Ayala by decision-or possibly late round TKO. Leonard? It doesn't happen, thankfully for Ray's sake.
I think i remember somewhere KO or one of those publications where they would list matchups along with the odds. I'm pretty sure they already had Duran-Ayala with Tony a 2-1 favorite. I will look around and hopefully I still have some articles on it.
I agree, there's a chance i think he was going to fight Duran then the winner Moore. I've got similar memories and he and Duran were definitely slated, i'm thinking it was jail that caused the cancellation...... Ok, while perusing i now think this fight was slated but Duran lost to Laing, remember. If Duran won he was to fight Tony i think. Anyway Tony got put away near when Duran beat Cuevas which gave Moore a reason to fight Duran. Let me know what you think. I reckon i have it.
