I agree. Aside from staying motivated and active, I think fighters avoiding him will be his biggest challenge back to the top if he decides to pursue the championship.

I don't doubt his ability to get into shape for one fight. Maybe he can do two in a row.

Any sort of break and he will likely balloon again.

    Yes - you're right.

If he goes "on holiday" again, it is over.

Tua got 3.5 mil for LL. The newspapers in NZ are saying that Tua is in great shape.

    Thanks, Diehard.

But do you agree that this is his last run?

If he does another long layoff after this, isn't it curtains?

McCall, Golota, Mercer, etc., couldn't do it after a certain age. I think it is unreasonable to expect Tua to be a latter day George Foreman, who also knew he couldn't do it against any of the best fighters of the mid 90's and pretty wisely spent the last of his career ducking faster men.

The 3 guys who beat him are either retired, applying for parole or fighting under 200 lbs.

He has been inactive - yes - and gone through a bad few years in his own life.

But at 36 years with his "attitude" back - I feel a lot of people may be surprised
by what this guy can bring.

    October 3rd awaits!!

Maybe Vitali showed us that is you are out for a while and having been taking the wear and tear it's poss to come back in your late 30s and make an impact.
