How do you see that playing out?

Somewhere around the time Tyson was having his fights with Holyfield while Bowe was having his fights with Golota.

Tyson ko easy, Bowe was shot when he fought Golota...whereas Tyson was only half the fighter he was when he fought Holyfield.

Bowe by 96 was already past his best despite only being 29. The wars with Holyfield and being constantly overweight had taken it's toll.

Tyson despatched Golota with ease 4 years after Golota ruined Bowe so Tyson would be a big favourite. Tyson is a bigger puncher than Golota, I see Tyson stopping a faded Bowe inside 8 rounds. Would not have been a pleasant night for Bowe, imagine Tyson teeing of on a stunned Bowe with his back against the ropes instead of Golota.

I reckon Tyson would smash this Bowe, not that Tyson was prime himself though. Prime for prime I think Bowe's chances are massive.

Bowe took horrendous punishment from Golota. Tyson was not that good in 96-97. If Bowe hung around until the mid rounds, I suspect he could stop Tyson. If Bowe was able to land like Holyfield did I think he beats Tyson.

Bowe was never stopped and very hard to keep down once he was hurt. He was a lot like Holyfield in that he fought harder when he was hurt.

Both past their best. Bowe far more so than Tyson.

    Tyson - early ko.

I don't even want to think about this match in 96-97. As others stated above Bowe was done and Tyson was past it. Tyson probably takes it. But a prime for prime match...now that could end up being the greatest heavyweight fight of all.

I'd have to edge with Tyson has he had more left in the tank.

I would have like to have seen this fight at anytime. Even 96'. Because no one knew how much Bowe had regressed until he fought Golota.

Would THAT Tyson have done a better job than THAT Golota though? Fouls aside.

IMO, this fight would have been the easier fight than Holyfield

Bowe wasn't shot against golota; he was overweight and undertrained. By the rematch he was in better shape; he just couldn't handle andrew.

Tyson was past prime but for 4 rounds he was probably the best hw in the world. Up until round 8 i'd expect tyson to knock big daddy out.

If bowe is still standing by round 11 and he's in the shape he was for the golota rematch then I think bowe will stop tyson before the final bell.

Overall I give mike the edge about 70-30 :good

    Iron Mike.

Bowe was just way too hittable. Even worse, hittable with clean punches. And this particular opponent threw hard follow ups after the initial punch. It wasn't 1 and done, but 3 hard punches being delivered. Those follow up hooks and right hands are going to finish the show and it wasn't as if Bowe had the footwork to avoid those shots and get out of harms way.

Comfortable win for Tyson. Bowe was never the hardest to hit, but by this point he got tagged super easy.

Hard to say. The Holyfields fights drained Bowe of some of his skills and motivation. If Mike went to the body early he might win a mid rounds fight. It is a toss up fight. Both guys were diminished in 1996. I would edge toward Bowe maybe. If he landed his left hook on Mike I don't think Mike would take it too well. Mike's defense by 1996 was rushing in and landing punches without moving his head.
