Tyson would have had a better chance to win than in '02 no doubt, but there was a reason Tyson's people didn't want this fight. Lewis was a different proposition as opposed to walking through Bruno, Seldon and co.

So not surprisingly i'd pick Lewis.

For those who are gonna undoubtedly pick Tyson because of Lewis percieved weak chin, i will say that Lewis will come into any fight with Tyson knowing that the guy can hurt him. This makes Lennox not only very dangerous but also nigh on impossible to beat imo.

Lewis did beat up on him when they were kids and I think Tyson knew Lewis could mess him up as adults in their respective prime. No-bias cause I like Lewis but I just feel he would've beaten Tyson regardless. Yes he could take guys lightly but I doubt he would do that to Tyson and instead take him to school. Tyson was done when they met I admit but I loved Lewis performance I rewatched the fight a day ago.

Well TBH they never would've met up prime as

    Lewis prime about 96-00

    Tyson prime 87-90

Any versions from these two pitted against each other in a series I still favor Lewis to win big.

Prime for prime I always take Tyson in this match-up without a whole lot of concern.

I just don't think Tyson in the 90's is the same guy. I am not convinced that lewis scores a stoppage in this type of scenerio, but he should still be able to take a comfortable decision.

Lewis for me in this scenario. Prime for prime I think it's 50-50 however if either were slightly off on the night they would no doubt lose and probably suffer a brutal KO

I favor Lewis, but if a guy like Rahman can find the button, I cant count Tyson out. He always has a shot in ending it with his power.

But Lewis would be my favorite going in, and if he gets out of the first 4 or 5 rounds, the more the odds would go into Lewis's favor. Not sure about a knockout though.

Any Lenny Lion of 1992-2003* (does not need to be primed) would bloody kill 1990 Tokyo Tinkerbell!! Midget Lisp threw 18 punches compubox average a round nearly all risky lead-rights what were sloppily swung like a bloody moron. And his defense VS Duster Buglas was him blocking combo punches with his chin!! What a knuckle-dragger! Using your chin to block punches is SUICIDE VS Lenny Lewis. :deal

*Not including teh undertrained altitude-sickness, Ocean's 11 version of Lenny.

Lewis would have been a dangerous fight for Tyson within a year of his prison release for sure. Holyfield ended up being too much too soon but I'm not sure Lewis would have had the same results. I picked Tyson.

    OK, I'll pick Lennox Lewis.

However, in 1996 he will at least have to stand up to Tyson's power which is something he was able to avoid completely in 2002 as Mike couldnt land but a single shot of significance.

Tyson knew what he was and where he was after prison and he knew where Lewis was at in his career. One was a drug and sex addict who didn't want to box anymore who still wanted to make big paydays and the other...a World Class Athlete HW Champion who was hungry and was sticking around for legacy rights and a huge payday against the big names.

So Tyson "ducking" was a smart choice in the long run although it didn't work out because Tyson, like his past had showed, made poor life/financial decisions.

Tyson's best chance at Lewis was in 1996 going into the Bruno fight. He was still doing enough to want to regain the title and before his ego was over inflated once again. But I just don't think he wanted to be "tested" and "exposed" for what he was at this point. So fights with Bruno and what he thought was a past prime Holyfield...were smarter choices (except for Holy).

Tyson at this point, early 1996, could have taken it to Lewis. Possibly Won by KO. He still had some power, speed, agility, could take a punch and had a bit of aggression left...But those odds aren't favorable either. I would think Lewis would use his jab, keep a distance, and unload some early bombs on Tyson to gain respect. And when that happens, Tyson probably just goes into cruise control, takes his beating, and gets knocked out by round 10 or 11 after being gassed and beaten by bombs. Lewis KO/TKO 10-12...unless Lewis plays it even safer than he coasts to a UD. Which might be more plausible considering Tyson was more "live" at this point than the over-weight, heavily medicated version that he ended up fighting.

Tyson still had way too much going on in his head after he came out. He had too many people working on his gimic and not enough people to keep his butt in the gym and focus. The McNeely, Seldon and Mathis Jr fights were circus acts. Semi-impressive wins no doubt, but Mike wasn't right IMO.
