Y’all better chill the **** out with overrating Zhang and slow ass ******ed sloth from goonies looking ass Joyce.

Don’t get me to ask @CST80 and @Serge to write up a masterpiece completely dismantling Zhangs overrated ass. This board really thinks this guy is the real deal. He’s decent but he’s not elite.

I'll do it just for the hell of it. Zhang is currently probably the most overrated Heavyweight period, he can make any excuse he wants for looking like **** against Forrest, but the reality is. It was Forrest's relentlessness that exhausted and dehydrated him, he didn't come into the ring sick, nor did he struggle making weight, because he didn't have to. Before that he looked subpar to average against Juan Goode, Rudenko and Rodney Hernandez in which he fought gassed with his mouth agape for the majority of the match. Let's be honest, while decent, his power is vastly overrated, he's great at smoking bums with no chins, but I've yet to see any evidence to back up that it's Wilder like in nature. The people hyping him the hardest are the Hrgovic fanboys, still in disbelief at what I've known all along, that Filip is overrated, sloppy, basic as **** and kind of sucks. Yet even in a match where he dropped Filip and rocked him to his core on several occasions, he still realistically, barely edged it due to the knockdown if being generous (on my card), and the loss isn't close to egregious. Hrgovic swept most of the second half, because as usual, Zhang's **** gas tank reared its ugly head again. As far as the win over Joyce, that was flukish, sure it was a punch from him that did the damage, swelling Joe's eye, and the TKO due to that damage was legit. But cut the ****, Joe took the best he had to offer early, while wobbled he never went down and was walking through his bombs non stop the next 6 rounds, Zhang was already starting to fall apart, and kind of lucked out that the fight was stopped when it was. Because in all likelihood, it was all downhill from there. Joe will be cautious early in the rematch, and do what he should have the first time and take him out late. The only thing Zhang has going for him is he's a southpaw and most Heavyweights suck at fighting southpaws, even the most basic ones like Forrest and Charles Martin.

Interesting, but kind of pointless. None of this has anything to do with what I wrote. @ellerbe misunderstood my post after getting all on his feelings when he saw Wilder tier 3. He had three bites at the cherry, and still got the wrong idea (note, my intention is never to derail a thread which I thought was about Anderson).

However, @CST80 feel free to write a detailed post about why Wilder deserves a title shot more than the winner of Zhang v Joyce, Hrgovic, and Ruiz Jr. at this point in time based on recent results. That would be an interesting read!

Here is what I originally said, and I'll add further detail:
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Who deserves a shot at Usyk:
    Tier 1:
    Fury

    Tier 2:
    Zhang vJoyce (Winner)

    Tier 4:

Ajagba, Anderson, Makhmudov, Parker, Ortiz, Whyte

I wish you well in explaining why Wilder deserves to be Tier 2 based on results.

Where did I say I thought he did? I didn't. I was called in to do a hit by @ellerbe and I'm an exquisite and thorough assassin.:sisi1

I’m hoping Usyk fights Hrgovic next. Easy tick over fight while Fury has his exhibition bout

Not a bad post. Hrgovic was trying to take the lions share of the money with his IBF rank against far more known fighters. It does frustrate me that someone with such a poor resume can be mandatory. That said after watching Zhang batter Joyce, it makes his record look better. I did think Zhang won the fight but it was a close fight with no robbery.

I am hoping he gets the fight now vs Usyk so it can be put to bed

You make a good point, I'm caught between two stances on that.

On the one hand, I recognize that the IBF have a borked split system based on ranking, and also felt a lot of the issues were created by Hearn & Sauerland not willing to pay out to get Hrgovic decent opponents after racing him up the rankings (somewhat undeserved).

On the other hand, Hrgovic did focuss on the IBF rankings, and everyone on those rankings knew the split rules. It was the exact same thing when Whyte chose to fight Parker instead of an IBF final eliminator against Pulev (the majority called Whyte a duck for that), and Hughie Fury took the fight instead (because it was a chance at becoming mandatory).

Just like that, in the case with Hrgovic, many fighters should have been jumping at the opportunity just like H. Fury did. Instead, we had the PBC positioning their fighters on the IBF rankings with no intention of following through. They could have made Martin v Hrgovic when Martin was ranked above him, but instead they made Martin v Ortiz, and put it on PPV as an IBF eliminator. Then walked away from the final eliminator against Hrgovic citing injury. That was cynical, and I can't blame Hrgovic for that. Ruiz Jr. and Parker, was also understandable as they were far more established (but if Whyte duck Pulev, then they ducked Hrgovic). Everyone else on that top 10 had zero excuse, though. Which is why Zhang petitioned and got the fight.
