I say the winner of Fury vs Usyk gives the more deserving rated contenders a shot at the big prize, a proposed fight against Wilder is a waste of time, denying more deserving contenders a title opportunity. No more reruns, that too is a waste of time.
Yes the Ruiz win over AJ proved some things too. As you know, just on this forum alone, there are many that argue for the supersized HWs. Amongst them, there are only a handful that can argue logically. As far as the rest of them, it's easy to see the bias, and often easy to figure the source of the bias, whether it be nationalistic, racist or whatever.
I think sometimes old timers have rose tinted glasses, but at the sametime the newer generation sometimes underestimate the skills of older fighters. I think you have to find a balance so your opinions are not too ludicrous. Like for example I don't give Marciano a snowballs chance against modern super Heavyweights, but I think someone like Sugar Ray Robinson would be an ATG in any era.
Right, and only the size difference is the deciding factor in a fight between Marciano & Fury, is that what you're saying?
TBH it's unfair to compare Marciano with Super Heavyweights, as he would be Cruiserweight by today's standards. That's why I don't really like comparing black/white era Heavyweights to modern Heavyweights. But I definitely think Liston and any top Heavyweight after Liston like Holmes, Ali, Foreman, Tyson, Witherspoon, etc. Could definitely easily compete in this era, I mean Dillian frigging Whyte was rated top 5 Heavyweight at one point.
