I think Fury will absolutely retire, at least temporarily, if he wins. I fully expect Usyk to honor the rematch, as long as he doesn’t suffer some kind of injury that would basically force him to retire. If Usyk beats Fury twice, I think he would retire at that point or maybe have one more defense of the undisputed title, although I really don’t know who his opponent would be (Zhang would be interesting if he gets by Wilder). After being undisputed at both cruiserweight and heavyweight, and going 4-0 against his best opposition at heavyweight (AJ and Fury), I just don’t think he would have anything left to prove. Plus, he could retire with an undefeated record, and no one could justifiably accuse him of padding that record or avoiding challenges. He would go down as one of the ATG P4P fighters.

I don't think there will be a rematch. I think if Usyk wins Fury won't cope mentally and retire and possibly although I hope not go off the rails.
Should Fury win I think he will retire claiming to be the GOAT and scatter the belts so he can brag until there's another undisputed fight again about being not only the last undisputed but undefeated aswell.
Either way Furys ego could further have a negative impact on boxing.

I believe Fury will try to get the rematch if he loses at which point he can still salvalge "no unavenged losses". People don't throw around that phrase much anymore but diet zero is still better than no zero at all.

Fury "retired" to avoid the Klitschko rematch. Floyd also retired to avoid his rematch with Delehoya. so it seems that retiring does prevent it.

Unless he totally dominates Fury (like what Crawford did to Spence), its silly to suggest that Fury doesn't deserve a rematch.... Take the emotions out of it, why wouldn't the Lineal Champion deserve a rematch after receiving his FIRST LOSS.

Would you make the same statement the other way around. Does Usyk not deserve a rematch if he was to lose?

My God, people use their emotions waaaay too much when discussing this violent sport.

It's really depends what is in the contract, and if other side decide to take legal actions. I doubt is that easy to just fake retire to avoid rematch. But, yeah Fury absolutely deserve to taste some of his own b.c.

    Yeah, they are seriously thick.

If Usyk does beat Fury, Fury isn't gonna want a rematch.....................I'd almost guarantee that he retires

I would like to see there be no rematch to make the fight decisive and most meaningful but as a gentlemen's agreement rather than as a kind of spite tactic by one man or the other.

I suspect the rematch will happen either way, but Fury will struggle to come back from a loss much more than Usyk would I suspect.

Well Usyk had the unnecessary rematch with Joshua, despite being the mandatory challenger and the conclusive winner.
I’m sure he’d just follow that pattern with Fury.

For some reason I think Fury will be gracious in defeat. Deep down he respects Usyk but fights have to be promoted.
