I mean he's only 29 and if he looks impressive against Mayorga that would help to prove that he really did look shitty against Mosley cause of the weight limit. Do ya think he will continue if he impressivelly beats Mayorga ? if so what are winnable middleweight fights for him ?

to me at 160 I think he could beat: Castijello, Masoe, Strum, Carerra these might not be huge names, but all of them are contenders or champs at 160.

also i think vargas will beat mayorga because Mayorga is 0-2 at middleweight and in my opinion is very overrated.

He probably wont, but for his health, he should.

I think Vargas will win since mayoraga is more of junior middle than an actual middle but to answer the ? i dont think he will retire if he does win
in my mind if he doesnt look impressive he should stop fighting but if he wins easily i think a good opponet for him would be Edison Miranda

the miranda fight in my opinion is the riskiest fight for him, mainly because of mirandas power, i think vargas needs to stay away as far as possible from Pavlik and Miranda

i agree... and vargas is my favorite fighter. he need to go after light punchers strum, carrera, and castijello (who he's already dominated)

exactly. his chin and the wear and tear on his body wont allow to compete with true middlewieght punchers.

    vargas needs to retire...

and yes, i believe this will be his last fight...

also... IF he DID continue... he needs to stay the hell away from true middleweights. the guy stands eye to eye with mosley just about... is a true... solid 154, but cant train to get there anymore through dedication imo and his back.

If he didnt balloon so much in between fights... he wouldnt have trouble making 154.

but he has a bulged L-5, and its only going to get worse the longer he fights.

yes he will, and should, retire... no matter how he looks.

It's an interesting question, hypothetically. It's almost a shame we'll never get to find out after Mayorga KO's Vargas, thus continuing RM's career post-Fatty.
