Wlad is a better fighter right now, but styles makes fights. I think that Vitali has the tools to beat Wlad. If there is a brawl, Vitali wins, otherwise Wlad outpoints him.

You never miss a chance to bash Vitali, do you? You criticize him on every occasion that comes up.

Your constant referral to Vitali as "Tougher" is starting to sound like a broken record, despite the evidence pointing to the contrary. Vitali has possibly the most cowardly quit job in the history of modern boxing, yet you ignorantly continue to dub him "Tough".

Toughness is the last thing I would use to describe Vitali. Wlad isn't a warrior, but he has more heart and toughness than Vitali for sure!

I believe Wladimir is currently the real heavyweight champion of the world, and Vitali is his number one contender. But the two brothers will probably never fight each other. If they fought now, I would pick Wladimir over Vitali by a 12 round decision win. Then every boxing fan would know for sure who the heavyweight champion is. That would help the heavyweight division a lot...in my opinion.

I think Vitali would slaughter him. Vitali is much tougher .... I throw the Byrd fight out as a mistake, no where near as bad as Duran in New Orleans. He has more that proved his heart ever since the Lewis fight where he fought blind and took monster flush shots from an all time murderous puncher and did not quit ...

    1. You can't just throw the bryd fight out as a mistake. The mistake was Vitali acted like a coward, thus dispelling him from being a tough fighter. Duran-Leonard is not as bad, because duran was getting his ass kicked, being toyed with, and knew he couldn't win. Vitali was creaming bryd and only had to stay on his feet for 2 more rounds.

    2. That was by far the very worst version of Lennox Lewis who ever entered into the ring. Lewis was old, he was overweight, and out of shape. Vitali still managed to lose this fight. Lewis was ripe for the picking that night, and vitali couldn't capitalize. I think Wlad beats that version of Lennox. I personally think the doctor actually saved Vitali. Lewis was starting to get to Vitali. The cut was bothering him. I think within 3 rounds, Lewis would have either knocked him out, or vitali would have quit on his stool again.

    1. Wrong: The second Duran /Leonard was close. Leonard was basically up by a round or two. Duran suffered next to no physical punishment. He was simply embarrassed by Leonard fighting a smarter strategy that he could not deal with. In addition, he knew he likely under trained and had little hope of reversing the tide so he quit. He quit because he was frustrated, not getting beat up in the slightest. He was never remotely hurt.

    2. Wrong again. Lewis was totally over confident and unfocused in his loses to McCall and Rachman. IN fact , he was fairly well prepared for Vitali. If he was not he would have folded. He proved his shape by hanging in the bout.

This is always my criticism with you SQ, you are all or nothing. Rocky was never hurt. Sharkey has no chin. Vitali has no heart. To build up one fighter you have to destroy another instead of just factoring them. Too emotional ...

I don't know if I can agree with this.. Lewis was 37 years old, off for one full calendar year and showed up at a career high weight... I'm not saying this to belittle Vitali, but frankly I wouldn't say that Lewis was " fairly well prepared.."

LOL, if they really agreed to fight Mama Klitschko (rightfully) would make sure this fight was less competitive than Deleon/Nelson.

Vitali would not want to hurt his little brother, Vlad would give to his big brother.

The Byrd-Vitali fight has been explained to Suzie.

    Several times.

He simply ignores the points made, disappears and then goes back in other threads to posting the same thing over again.

Your example of Duran (that no-heart ***** !) has been pointed out before too.

    But Suzie knows better.

Since when do you post in the classic section? I think you have overstayed your time here. Time to go back to the general section where you belong. :good

Ps There is nothing to explain about the Bryd-Vitali fight. No exuse. A 40 year old Holyfield fought with the exact SAME injury against Chris Bryd for 11 rounds and survived the distance. Your telling me a 40 year old over the hill fighter can do it for 11 rounds, but a 28 year old undefeated champion cannot suck it up for 2 more rounds? :-(

But then using that logic, fighters like Floyd Patterson or Zab Judah must've been clearly tougher than Sonny Liston.

Sonny Liston got up off the canvas to win a fight :good

Liston also fought 4 rounds with a broken jaw to go the distance, without quitting.

Liston also came back to win a fight after getting his nose badly broken.

What did Vitali ever do to match this?

My philosophy is it is a lot worse to quit while you are well ahead in a fight with only a few rounds to go, than to quit in a fight you are getting beat up with many rounds to go.

A 40 year old over the hill fighter fought 11 rounds against Chris Bryd with a torn rotator cuff, never quitting. Why couldn't a 28 year old undefeated champion suck it up and fight 2 more rounds to finish the fight?

Two tall fighters who like to use there extreme physical advantages to there outbox their opponent. The one who has better technique and a higher skill level(Wlad) is going to trump the one who relies solely on his physical advantages(Vitali). Because against wlad, Vitali is not going to have any physical advantages.
