If Vitali is as good as he used to be, is there any doubt he can beat Peter?

And for the record, i think he has declined to critical degree. His style always relied a lot on reflexes and punch output, both of which go first with age.

But to me, the only factor in the Klitschko-Peter fight is how much % Vitali has left. Peter, in my book, does not stand much chance against the Vitali of 2000-2003. Given how much he struggles with tall fighters like McCline and Vitali's brother, it's hard to fathom him being effective.

Yes, he has a chance, he is a puncher in the HW division. But your point is well made. Vitali would be a prohibitive favourite peak for peak. I AM a little shocked that he is still being made favourite after a 4 year lay off. I think that this would be a great win for Klitscko.

There should be no excuse if he loses.

Peter has shown he can't KO fighters that are above C class type fighters. His power is very overrated against ranked fighters.

But do we agree here that if Lewis was well prepared, there should not have been any doubt that he would have disposed of Vitali within 6?

I mostly agree. He is not a great deliverer of his power. However, any puncher can get lucky. If you hit a guy right he will go. The point with powerful punchers is they can afford to tag a man with less than 100%.

Tottaly agree and if the fight had of continued, he would of destroyed him anyway.

Vitty was shipping a lot of punishment in the 6th :good if it was a better lewis it would not of been that competive.

VK for sure is a real fighter. A guy who was heavyweight champion, kickboxing champion has to be a good fighter. Most important: He has the killer instinct which his brother lacks.

I agree 100% if Vitali is close to himself he will stop Peter but how much did he lose in 4 yrs with no comeback fight at 35 yrs old...

The old Vitali would murder Peter easily, no contest. If Vitali is just 50% of himself, he will still knock Peter out. His chin is much better than Peter's and his punhes are quicker, harder, his jab is awesome, right hand devastatiog.

Yeah because Danny Williams is a total bum :patsch

FYI - Danny Williams isn't the most talented heavy ever, far from it (even by his own admission) but is an incredibly gutsy competitor who refuses to give up in any fight, and at his peak (mentally and physically) would compete with most (in fact almost all) of the current heavies.

Peak Danny Williams > Peter IMO

The Vitali of 2004 would utterly whip Sam Peter. But how much does Vitali have left in 2008...especially after four years of inactivity?

If the Vitali of 2004 shows up Peter will not make it out of the 5th round.
