If Vitali Klitschko enters the top 10 ATG, does that force Lewis to #3?

No, we should not! Because he clearly isn´t in that class.

Yeah, but Schmeling, Sharkey and Baer aren´t on that list ...

Yep, to have a top 10 list that contains VITLAY is ******ed enough, but to have any list that places him higher than his brother is ridiculous beyond belief. VITLAYS best performance was getting beaten senseless by old man Lewis.

I don't think WALDO is top 10 yet personally, but he's got a better chance of getting there than his brother does.

It had more to do with illustrating a point than anything.

Longativity is one thing that will gain a HW theoretical points for my ATG list. Lewis has great longativity.

Dominace, the quality of the fighters Lewis fought , i beive he has a lot of good gread B wins. This grabs him some more theoretical points.

    Beating evry fighter he fought.

The number of ATGs on his resume, in Holyfield and Tyson, being ducked by Bowe dosent gain him anything but it does look good. We dont yet know how Vitali will be rememberd but thats a great win.

Like i said befor his win over Vitali and the way Vit goes on to dominate is a big bonous for Lewis.

I imagin some one else could take the same things i look for in Lewis and put many others above him with that exact same criteria but i think it just all comes down to how we interprate greatness and the way we choose to apply that to a fighter.

I do believe V.K. to be solid top-10 material............ I do........ He is a bad-ass............. I can envision V.K. being too good from long range and picking Liston apart for a TKO or clear points win......... V.K. is the goods........

V.K., like many before him, will not get his due / props until he is long retired and rocking in a chair.......

actually vitali is only doing so well because he's in this shitty era. end of story.
yeah what a bad ass. he quit on his stool against Byrd when he was ahea and dominating him.
too good from long range? liston wouldve welcomed that. he had a stiffer, and longer left jab then vitali.
and you are completely ignoring the way that vitali is completely flawed. the guy pulls back from punches, drops his hands, pushes his jab, and cuts very bad.
Liston wouldve exposed him and fired that jab and vitali would back up and try to avoid it but he wouldn't do it because Liston is better then every man vitali fought.
I can't believe you rank vitali so high. the guy did nothing to prove that besides Hang in there against Lewis. an OLD Lewis!!

84" isn't gonna help the 6' 1" Liston when V.K. at 6' 7" is punching downward at Liston's face.......... That edge in reach will be equalized by Klit's height.........

Plus, Klit at a solid and fit 250 is way too big for Liston at a fit 212 to 215 pounds in the trenches........ Liston is NOT gonna bully Klit in the ring......... NO!

I went through all this **** with the era of Larry Holmes back in high school........ Dicks used to tell me Holmes was a puss and beating bums and stiffs and was nowhere near greatness.... I just laughed at these sorry mothers while walking away......... I knew Holmes was the goods and the man..........

Hey, cool. This is the thread where Bill admits his own list is hypocritical and wrong.

Longevity certainly accounts for alot, but I also give points for tenure as champion as well as body of work. Remember Lewis's reign as champion was 1999-2003. Before that he was a top tier contender/beltholder.

That's one of his strong points.

    :thumbsup

I did a thread not to long ago asking which fighter benefited most from a fight not happening assuming they lost. I'm starting to see that Lennox Lewis gained alot of mileage from that Bowe fight not happening. Personally I think that he would have lost a barnburner in 1993.

Solid win. Just try telling that to VK fans.

    Very True
