If Vitali Klitschko enters the top 10 ATG, does that force Lewis to #3?

I think his stock could go up massively if Wlad loses a fight and Vitali fights and beats his conqueror again. I dont think that scenario is too farfetched either.

Theoretically, the same would happen, with a single victory over Wlad, but that is obviously unlikely.

    No, you don't, kid.

    You already have umpteen times.

Well these fight are unlikely to take place. But if they did, Vitali would probably take all four.

Povetkin admits to not being in the Klitschko league yet.

Haye's a wanker who wants no part of either Klitschko.

Adamek was lucky to get past Grant. Vitali would KO him.

Wlad's the only one of your gang of four who would have a chance. And despite being the better boxer, it's doubtful if he could overcome the psychological disadvantages he would face.

He's not. And while it's unlikely, it's certainly possible that he could get there.

Vitali has been inactive for most of the last five years. But before that, he spent some time cleaning up after his little brother.

If you compare their performances against common opponents, Vitali comes out fine.

As far as the thread topic is concerned, Lennox doesn't need Vitali to do anything more to garner a top 3 or 4 alltime.

Vitali is unlikely to crack the top 10. Wlad has a pretty decent chance.

Both are easily top 20 as of now.

Here is an interesting thread from a while back, when Vitali was getting ready for his third title reign.

Your good grace shines quite luminescently throughout.

    Especially post #22.

The bit about Valuev's dramatic improvement (post 15) was funny too.:yep:rofl

I know his reign as a unified champ was not huge nore was it without interuptions , but the length of time he went fighting solid fighters is incredible , i have him taking the jump up in 1991 with Mason. Mason was 35-0 and Lewis had only had 14 pro fights.
Some may not think thsi is when he steps up to fighting a quality grade of fighters , i can see an argument for 92 with Ruddock being the point where Lewis steps up.

Vitaly will not make top ten, but the premise is false. In well over 100 years of Queensbury rules boxing, if Vitaly is even top 20-30 (and he is) then it driver Lewis' status up.

I will be real interested to see how Vitaly finishes. Critics say he did not beat the best of his time- meh. After Corrie beat Wlad and Lewis retired, I say his fight with Sanders was with the other best heavy of the moment. Peter was arguably the best heavy besides his brother, and even though no one ever accussed Hide of being the best heavy, he was a titlist and if he does win a cruiser belt he will have a legendary status of his own. Gomez made a 10 crusier defenses and was a succesful heavyweight contender in the post Lewis years who might have won a belt had he faced a lesser champ. Arreola is a guy who might win a belt some day.

So I would say that Vitaly could still climb pretty high depending on A) who he can add to his record in the meantime and B) what his victims go on to do.

Top ten is going to be a real longshot though, and he would have to commit to staying around for a few more years.

Vitali is not an ATG fighter.
He doesn't make my top 20 for either "Greatness" or "Peak H2H" & beating a rusty old Shannon Briggs won't change anything.

However, Lewis should be given a lot of credit for his very good win over Vitali.
Lewis was chubby, old & had been inactive for a year when he brutally beat a Peak Vitali.
After his gruesome defeat, Vitali went on to be top dog in the division for 2004 & coming off an almost 4 year layoff he managed to play second fiddle to his superior younger brother for the last 2 years.

Top10 is very subjective, if people have the likes of Dempsey with his weak resume in their top10 they have no right to complain about someone else putting Vitali in their top10

How the **** would Vitali beat Wlad if the fight was made now?

    They are leagues apart.

Actually it will help. A lot. Nobody can expose Vitali because of the crappy opposition. i have yet to seen your response to that.
maybe he wont bully him but he will punch him around and cut him like lewis did

I have no problem with V.K.'s competition since his epic fight with Lenny Lewis in 2003........ Klit has fought and beat good / capable guys in the ring....
    :deal
Liston didn't have the hand or foot speed of Lewis..... Liston was a plodder / stalker....... Liston ain't gonna hit Klit with left and rights at will...... Not that Lewis did, either...... But Lewis was greater than Liston...:bbb

Lotsa' skeptics rag on Liston by claiming Cleve Williams was a limited brawler who was easy to hit, so kayoing Williams 2X was no biggie.... I hear that a lot.... AND! Liston's UD win over Edward Machen is / was a borefest.... YAWN! I have these fights on tape........

I'm sorry, but I don't see Liston doing well after 4 rds with the hulking and skilled V.K....... I also say despite Liston's octopus arms, he still gets picked apart from long range by Klit......
    :hat

    MR.BILL:thumbsup

Aside from "Ali and Lewis," I've never seen a heavyweight fight from the outside as well as Vitali and Wlad Klit..........

are you telling me that the 2003 version of lewis was better then prime liston?
    bull****.

Lewis was a plodder and probably had the same footspeed as liston
your reasoning for Vitali for peaking him apart at long range is because he's taller and apparently hard to hit. well vitali didn't beat anybody and lost to an old Lewis.
Liston would use that jab and cut up Vitali and probably stop him on cuts in 6 rounds just like the lewis fight

    Two part question:

    A. Wont happen.

    B. Not necesarily, but you have a strong case.

O man :lol::lol::lol: This idiot cuchulain had me rolling on the floor laughing with that one. I didn't even bother reading the rest of his post. Thanks for the laugh. Now take your Obama ass kissing back to the general scene where you belong. Your not knowledge enough for the classic section. Sorry just not there yet. Keep trying.

39 Year old Vitali beats Wladimir Klitschko, David Haye, Alexander Povetkin, Tomas Adamek back to back to back to back?:lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl Wlad Klitschko would have a field day with a 39 year old Vitali.
