If Vitali Klitschko enters the top 10 ATG, does that force Lewis to #3?

I swear to Christ, when I see Nicky Valuev fight, I think of Toro Moreno from the classic Bogie flick of 1956...... Valuev is a stiff.... His comp has sucked.... His best foe's were Russ Chagaev and an aged Evan Holy and, a spry runner named Dave Haye....

I will say that Nick "The Dick" Valuev was well handled.... The stiff has two WBA belts that I know of and made some good bank in the process..... I'm sure Valuev lives like a king in Russia.....

Holyfield shouldn't be allowed ?
But Briggs is okay ?
how do you figure that ?

I dont think we have to predict a "tragic event" if old man Holyfield were to fight a 39 year-old Vitali.
The only thing tragic is that such oldies are prominent in the division.

For my money, Holyfield would outwork Albert Sosnowski right now. He'd probably beat Kevin Johnson too.

I just don't know...... Holy is still ripped at 220 pounds, but his skills are really faded in 2010....... Holy was getting tagged and out-worked by my man Frans Botha back in April, but Botha's gas tank went dry after 6 rds and he wound up getting parked in round 8....... But Holy struggled hard to get the TKO win........

Holy has lotsa' problems pulling the trigger at age 47....... His timing is also bad......

Yeah, Holyfield is shot to hell.

But he'd probably beat guys like Sosnowski and Johnson, two fighters who never beat a decent fighter in their lives.
They aren't much better than an ancient Botha, let's be honest.

That's the bottom line - plus Holyfield isn't exactly active, he's fighting once a year pretty much.

I don't see why he shouldn't be allowed to fight Vitali to be honest. It's not a dangerous fight, albeit one he'd probably lose.

Are you kidding me? An old fighter without a big punch. An older fighter with too much pride and heart for his own good. How many punches do you want Evandar to take, because he would take too many in this match. Holyfield seems to have brain damage. Have you heard him speak lately? You almost need subtitles. If you thought Ali vs. Holmes was bad, Vitali vs. Holyfield would be worse.

Briggs is not in that type of shape. At least Vitali will at least have to respect Briggs early.

Johnson UD Holyfield. Holy just can't deal with any speed now.

I never worried about Roberto Duran becoming punch drunk as he aged in the ring because nobody really ever smacked him around at will in them stages except for Willie Joppy in 1998...... Its amazing, but at age 59, Duran still seems to have his marbles intact..... I hope they stay that way, as well......

As for Evan Holy, well, I get the feeling he may be shitting his Pampers and being spoon fed by a nanny when he's 65......... Not Kool......

You're just bitter because he beat your American heroes, Holyfield, Ruiz, McCline, Barrett, Donald, Ryan and even took the 0 of undefeated AMERICAN Gerald Nobles. No one else ever beat Nobles and both Klitschko sisters avoided him like the plague he'd have been to them. :-( Valuev's competition sucks yet they are avoided by the Kltischkos...What does that say about them if you think that, ey? Valuev did not give a slave contract to David Haye, because he doesn't fear punchers like Wlad or young speedy fighters like Vitali does. Take your anti-Russite racism elsewhere, MRBILL. Before you taint this forum with it.

You are talking rubbish. Firstly, here's a video of an interview with Holyfield just this week :

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_6352381,00.html

I find it perfectly easy to understand the guy. And I'm an englishman listening to a guy from Georgia, USA. His speech is clear, and he talks as quick and articulate as he ever did (he was never a great communicator, mind you). The interview is easy to follow, words easy to understand.
So you're just spreading bull****, admit it.

Secondly, while there's an argument for saying Holyfield shouldn't take any more risks and any top fighter might beat him and embarrass him, I think it's laughable that you want to build up Vitali in particular as an especially dangerous fight. Vitali is an old injury-prone veteran himself, on the decline, and his punching power has been lacking in recent fights - against opposition that isn't any better than an old Holyfield.

The Holmes-Ali comparison is ridiculous because Ali really was clearly punch-drunk, suffering from early signs of Parkinsons, and Holmes really was a great fighter at his peak.

Briggs hasn't gone beyond the 1st round since June 2007, when he was beaten over 12 rounds by Ibragimov. He's had 4 first round KOs since then, against pitiful opposition.
Holyfield isn't brain damaged, so what you're implying is nonsense.
But how do you know what kind of shape Briggs is in ?
He's got no form whatsoever.
Sure he can still KO bums in 1 round, big deal.

It's an awful fight and you're defending it.

Whatever. He's yet to have lost to a fighter as lowly as Kevin Johnson. And Johnson's not even fast, and hasn't ever beaten anyone ever. I dont know why he even got a title shot. He's in the Scott Frank category of title challengers, at best.

He sounds like a he has taken too many punches here. This one is current enough:

I think Holyfield would beat Sosnowski. I also think that Holyfield should retire.

He sounds fine. I followed the whole interview easily. He even remembers the dates of his old fights.

How on earth Briggs can be deemed to be a worthy opponent with those kinds of fights coming in is beyond me.

Although I agree that older fighters without power are doomed for failure
One can argue the success of fighters like Larry Holmes and Bernard Hopkins as examples.

But Evander is finished, on one hand it would be nice for him to earn a living as it is within his rights but his health, and to some extent his legacy is at stake. Nobody wants to remember Evander as the guy who keeps getting beat up. If he fights Haye, Wlad or Vitaly he could be seriously hurt. Maybe then he'd realize that it was all a joke.
