Vitali's corner didn't stop the Byrd fight. He quit.

Oleg's son, Hasim Rahman, against an undertrained Lewis.

Brittley, against an older, inactive for a year, undertrained Lewis.

Quitali Fanboy Response: But, but, but, but he was winning when he lost (as if being healthy enough to finish the fight isn't part of being a fighter, and Lewis didn't open the cut from a legal punch).

Quitali's most notable win: part-time fighter, overweight, Corrie Sanders who hadn't fought in a year (at least Brittley won this time against an inactive fighter).

Hasim Maskaev's 2nd best win: Younger, fresher, in better shape Corrie Sanders.

  3. Thread stealer you realized you've just indirectly highlighted how Lewis couldn't take a shot whereas Vitali could right?

Maybe Lummox couldn't take a shot, people can say that about him, but Vitali, with his high KO percentages, still couldn't put him down.

Or win the fight. He could win rounds against Lewis, but what matters, winning the FIGHT, Brittley couldn't do against Lummox or Byrd.

Again.... "Brittle" Rahman, and McCall, AND MASKAEV achieved as much as Vitali in terms of titles. In fact both Rahman AND MASKAEV had more title fights than Vitali, not to mention Maskaev beat Vitali in the amateurs.

    :yep

Face it, in terms of achievements all of these guys are equal to or better than Quitali. :hi:

If Vitali beat that version of Mavrovic, where would it rank on his resume of wins?

    1st, or 2nd?

    1st. By a distance.

Mavrovic was solid. His chin was insane!
Unfortunately his career was cut short by illness, but he would have easily held a title today.

I am a klitschko fan he is skilled or was. however he really didn't achieve much do to injuries. If he would have never had problems and defended his title he would probably still be champion and ready to retire.

Is there such a thing as an illegal punch to the face? Had it been another ref in there, maybe the fight would have continued.

9 out of 10 refs would have stopped it sooner.

mavrovic (though i'm half croatian) beat no one. you can't rank him above sanders who actually beat a future atg...

    True.

Only a hater would say that he definitely could not have been, because he has always ben the best against anyone he has ever shared the ring with. And that actually says a lot when someone lik Lewis is in there.

However, only a fanboy would categoricaly say yes, because at the end of the day we cannot place him higher than Ali, Louis, Marciano just on presumptions. Not even Lewis. Even if we think Vitaly could have beaten Lewis, Lewis has to (imo.) be ranked higher on the ATG rankings than Vitaly. Simply because you have to actually do it to earn it.

    OK, fine.

Then you can't rank Vitali very highly either for the same reasons. :deal

I'm not saying Mavrovic is some kind of ATG by the way, I just said he could hold a title today. Considering some of the scrubs who have held titles recently, I don't think that is an unreasonable statement.
