I'm calm. :smoke The "roll-eyes" smiley represented how I feel about it. Otherwise I would have used this guy:

I wouldn't mind if it was a one-off odd thread. In fact I didn't mind for the first half-a-dozen threads about Vitali's coulda-woulda-shoulda "greatness".

But there several threads a week saying basically the same thing - "if things were different, would they be different".

Seeing as Vitali hasn't fought in almost 4 years, maybe it should be in the Classic section. :yep

Being serious though,i reckon vit would have been the better fighter then his baby bro,but its so hard to say for sure,he kind of lost for me a golden chance to beat a off peak lewis,if he had managed that who knows where he could have gone from there had he stayed fit

Without the injuries he surely would have been Top 5 HW all time in my opinion.

But it´s hard to come over the "would have, could have, should have"

Yes, a Vitali with the body of his brother would've dominated the heavyweight for years. He was and I personally believe he still is a warrior with a killer instict inside the ring. On the other hand if Wlad would've his brothers toughness and that killer instinct he could hold the heavyweight crown for a decade. But he hasn't ;)

All in all Vitali was a very good boxer regardless of his more or less average opponents. A Vitali in his prime would give any boxer (Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis) in his prime a hard fight.

Not the best in history, but could have been very good maybe one of the best. Lewis and klitschko took that fight on short notice. lewis was in training for a title fight when his opponent couldn't make it. Vitali stepped in . The cut was a legitimate cut part of boxing. however the cut was a factor because it took the aggressiveness out of vitali he had to cover up more and not be deliberate. Lewis was fighting for his life, which shows lennox's personality. lennox was a fighter as well as a boxer which poo poos on the American view of him, like they do on many British fighters (they think that they are soft) Lennox may have been the best heavyweight in history. without the early cut it would have been one hell of a war.
