Danny's wins over Tyson & Meehan are better than anything on Peter's resumé.

Winning against injured shell of a man Tyson isnt that impressive.

Meehan victory is not more impressive than Maskaev, Toney 2 or McCline by any standards. :nut

Vitali can't train for them. They have to train and get into shape. I read an article where Floyd Maywether Sr said it is a mistke for the fighters today to come in heavier for a fight against either Klitschko to try and compensate the size difference. It hasn't worked yet and probably never will.

Good lord man McCline is horrible and battered Peter around the ring like a ragdoll.

And seeing as Vitali fans are usually more concerned with how you look than the quality of opponent, then Peter's wins over Taurus Sykes and Jeremy Williams are the most impressive victories in the history of boxing. :nut

Both Williams and Sykes have Glass Jaws. Those wins were worthless.

    Good point.

I smell little double standars here.

But all we ever hear about is Vitali's KO%. The quality of the opponent's chins is never mentioned.

    Why the double standard? :think

Good question. I see willliams vs Vitali as a toss up. Williams was a sucker for left hooks, but vitali didnt really have a solid one, his right was his punch. Williams had the much better jab and more polished boxing skills, but vitali had the big edge in durability. I see it being a boring fight with either one taking a split decision, or vitali late stoppage. btw i dont consider truth williams as one of the top 10 best heavyweights of the 1980s.

does patterson get to take steroids like vitali did? at the very least does he get to bulk up to a solid 210-215lb for this fight with modern nutrition/benefits/supplements? until i get more details im not going to comment.

I like C williams over Vitali by decision, Williams was more aggresive much faster hands, with power being equal. Williams moved like a cat and had excellent stamina, despite vitalis size williams during his career did very well vs taller fighter(6'6 ernie Terell and 6'4 billy daniels). if vitali shows up to fight and doest throw (arm punches/paw jab) like he does at times, he could give williams problems with his jab and ackward style of leaning back and countering. Only sonny liston ever floored williams in his prime, so i dont question williams durability. williams by majority decision.

As for vitali-peter i dont know, vitali is 4 years rusty and near 38 years old. I dont give him much of a chance, even against a crude powerful slugger like sam peter. however if vitali manages to beat a young top rated dangerous champion like peter at age 37 after being inactive that long, i will move vitali up considerably on my list(hes not in my top 50 as of now)...and i will give him far more respect. so ya this fight is a make or break for vitali.

ps dont be suprised if he pulls out last second like he did vs rahman(the first in shape contender he would have taken on)
