If Vitali or Wlad beats Pulev/Povetkin/Fury, will he rank above Lennox Lewis?

Neither Wlad or Vitali could ever rank above Lewis.

Better email boxrec. If they retired today they'd be ahead of him.

    What a stupid question.

Ross blocked a lot and wlad didn't have a scratch on his face and that was 16 years ago and even Ross said wlad could beat him in a rematch.
Wlad was trying to impress steward in the Brewster fight so he threw way more punches then normally.

It irrelevant how much he threw. What is relevant is that they took it and were able to keep fighting. As someone who has actually fought before I can tell you that affects you both physically and mentally. So obviously they played a part in Wlad losing. I'm not even trying to say he didn't throw himself out against Brewster. But lets not pretend Lamont played no part in it.

You do realise that fight was 9 years ago, has been avenged and the guy has been champ for the longest run since Holmes, knocking out way more than Holmes did and more varied competition.

Brewster had legit chin, he tanked Wlad's damage and landed hurtful shots of his own. The left hook put him on ***** street. Even if Wlad exhausted himself punching Lamon in the face, regardless of anything coming back, that just means Lamon beat him by being tougher.

    Moving on.

You do realize we're not discussing Holmes, win streaks or knockouts, right? But since you want to be involved, what's your take? Did Brewster and Puritty have any part in beating Wlad, or is Wlad himself the sole reason he lost?

No Lewis was better than both Klitschko's. Vitali is the best Klitschko and Lewis beat him at the end of his Career. Wlad would have been Koed with in 2 rounds with Lewis due to his very weak chin. Wlad would not be able to take the shots Vitali did from Lewis.

Wlad would need to stay on top for a couple more years, beating a couple of solid contenders. Wlad is in my Top10, but below Lewis.

Vitali, despite his impressive KO % and comeback, won't rank above Lewis.

    .

I can't believe people like you are using Boxrec as a source of ATG ranking validation, yet throw the very phrase 'boxrec' means nothing when someone link a
    'tko6' screenshot ..

Lewis is ranked higher than Vitali will ever be. And there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it.

Lennox Lewis literally fought a murderer's role of punchers:

    Tua
    Golota
    Briggs
    Mason
    Ruddock
    Morrison
    Bruno
    Grant
    Vitali

even the 2002 shot version of Tyson was still considered a very very big puncher for the first 3 rounds. In fact, I will say that the 2002 version of Tyson was a BIGGER puncher than anybody Vitali have fought outside of Semi Shot Lewis.

I don't know if Sanders was a bigger puncher than 02 Tyson even..

Lewis have staked his claim and staked it well as one of the best h2h heavyweights and Resume heavyweights of all times.

There is nothing anybody can do about the fact that old semi shot Lewis close to 38 tko6ed Prime Vitali.
    Nothing.

    It is set in stone.

People talk down about Golota now because he never lived up to potential.

The truth of the matter was that Golota coming off beatings delivered against Riddick Bowe was a slight favorite against Lewis.
At best the fight was a 50/50 or 60/40 to Lewis.

Nobody predicated that was going to be a ko1, and that Lewis literally took him to school within one round.

When was the last time Wlad or Vitali took someone as dangerous as Prime Golota out in one round?

Golota showed a great jab, beautiful combinations, good footwork, good boxing skills, great power, and good counter punching abilities in his career leading up to Lewis.

Just because Lewis ruined guys like Golota, Grant, Tua don't mean we should under appreciate what they truly were.
