I honestly don't know. Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes are two fighters that I have a lot of confidence in to beat Vitali, but for me they'd both have to be at their best, which neither of them were for much of the 70's. Holmes did not reach his peak until somewhere around 1979-1980, where as a fully primed Ali was probably 60's. I love George Foreman, but this would be a fight where for once he'd be outmatched on all levels, physically, stylistically, etc.. Joe Frazier was a better man on a p4p basis, but that doesn't help him in an actual match. The rest of the crowd such as Norton, Shavers, Lyle, Quarry and Young don't cut it. I think Vitali Klitschko would be very, very hard to beat in most eras..
Foreman would put that foot in his ass, but he would probably do good against a Shavers, or Bonavena, the latter would be tougher, but he could do ijt.
He'd be a good "guy to beat" if you want to show your serious, he'd be in the same ranks as earnie shavers, ron lyle, quarry, ellis. But he would not beat a foreman, frazier, ali etc.
That's dumb logic. Sorry. That wasn't a lucky cut, it was a tiny welt that Lennox repeatedly hammered into a gigantic gaping vagina hole. It's not like some wild hayemaker which cut Vitali. Lewis vs Vitali will ALWAYS ALWAYS result in a cut. Vitali's skin is just not up to par with Lewis's accuracy and abilities. Lewis will cut him 100% of the time. If they fought 100 times, VItali bleeds like a stuck pig 100 times. A Prime Lennox would beat Vitali to death, winning every single round up until a brutal TKO from anywhere between Rounds 2-12. The Ruddock Version of Lewis will beat any version of Vitali, much less Prime Lewis. Vitali gets so over rated it's insane.. Prime Lewis will clown him bad. Vitali's best win is against a 40 year old part time golfer (RIP Corrie) but we have to tell the truth. Sanders had brutal power and great potential, but he came into the Vitali fight at age 39-40 and did most of his training in restaurants. Vitali's 2nd best win could very well be Danny Williams or Samuel Peter. Samuel Peter would have been knocked out by the Olympic Version of Lennox.
Correction Skittelz, Corrie sanders was not a part time golfer full time boxer, he was a full time golfer, and part time boxer who hadn't boxed in over 2 years
:rofl He will land 100% of the twelve punches he will throw and get 1200 grazing, cuffing hits in return for twelve rounds, displaying his genius, then cry robbery. It would be another glorious Young "skill win". But, those damn judges will not understand it...
Well, I'll start by rating who was around during that time... 70's Holmes Ali Foreman Frazier Norton Young Lyle Quarry Shavers Holmes thru Frazier have a chance, the rest... not so much. Norton might do well but I doubt he makes it to the late rounds. A fight with Lyle would be fun for as long as it lasted. Shavers wouldn't last very long, neither would Quarry.
I'm pretty sure that if Vitali tore his shoulder and quit against Byrd, Jimmy Young could cause the exact same fate.
Yeah, you can always count on a shoulder injury when guessing who would win a fight. Always. Smart analysis, that. Then again, Byrd had a bizarre habit of letting his punches go, mixed up with slipping them, and this is what caused his bizarre tendency to actually win so many of his fights, percentage-wise, as opposed to Young. I mean, whatever caused Byrd's amateurish predilection for punching his opponents makes him far less likely to win fantasy matches than Young. I would most definitely agree to that. Not as tasteful a waiting man as Young, that's for sure. You know what else got Byrd in trouble, traps that Young wouldn't fall into? Trying. You either do, or you don't do. You don't try. That's for fantasy fight losers.
I think it'll be similar to the Byrd fight to be honest. Another? how many does he have? only Ali was a loss I'd have scored in his favour.
Vitali was never down and he was never behind on points in a fight. Yes, he lost twice... LTKOby9 to Chris Byrd (torn rotator) and LTKOby6 to Lennox Lewis (cuts). He improved after these fights... but he was very good even in these fights. Vitali is taller and heavier than any of the fighters we are putting him against and he knew how to use his size advantages. He has a solid chin, he has good stamina, good power, a good jab, and is strong. These are understatements because he gets an A+ in all of these areas. Vitali was able to beat huge men with ease. He was able to beat smaller men with ease. Ali, Holmes, and Foreman are all top 5 all-time HWs IMO. Frazier is pretty damn good as well. In all honesty, not much seperates Norton from Frazier in terms of ability. They both did well vs. Ali in 3 fights (both beat him once), they both stopped Quarry, both stopped Ron Stander, and they were both stopped early by Foreman. I think Ali, Holmes, and Foreman win tough fights vs. Vitali. I don't think these other guys beat him. We are talking about Vitali at his best vs. these guys at their best. I don't think Vitali was at his very best vs. Byrd or even Lewis... although he was close to it. Ruddock wasn't **** compared to Vitali btw!
James Bonecrusher Smith gets stopped even if he turns into Boneclutcher again. Vitali is bigger, heavier, as strong if not stronger, and can take Smith's punches. He is a much better boxer than Smith. Witherspoon was a good boxer but his punches wouldn't slow down Vitali's attack (Witherspoon had good power though) and I doubt 'Spoon could take too many of Vitali's punches before at least slowing down. Dokes was good and so was Thomas but they could not beat Vitali. Page and Tubbs were good boxers but Vitali would walk right thru both of them. Tucker? Timber!
