I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little miffed that my post was ignored. It was incredibly relevant.

Thanks, I feel better now. I mean, it only makes sense. Why would a man's losses or deficiencies be held against him? Holyfield lost 10 times. What I'm saying is: So what? He's undefeated, and should be recognized as such. Just like Wladimir and Vitali. People need to stop criticizing them and just realize that they are the **** no matter what, because I like them. End of thread.

...You know who else is essentially an undefeated ATG? ... Gabe Brown. Because if he hadn't have lost to the only man to get up from the SNV double punch-Etienne, where would he be right now? The public perception would be just a wee bit different, I think.

Very true. Also, I just checked Gabe Brown's stats on boxrec. It says KO percentage of 34.29. What I'm saying is, why not 100%?? He's good for it.

Yeah, we can just round up to 100. We all know if he wanted to and was powerful and skilled enough, he would've knocked everybody out...Save for maybe Etienne. (If you get up from an SNV double punch...)

Despite his 3 bad losses, I think Wladimir Klitschko is up there with Lennox Lewis.
Interestingly on this board, Lennox Lewis is often called a top 5 heavyweight of all-time, and people scream blue murder if you dont include him in the top 10 ! Yet many of the same people would scream blue murder if were to put Wlad up there.

Personally, I dont rate Lewis that high. And I swear Wlad's in the same category as him now, just going on resume and dominance and longevity.

As for Vitali Klitschko, he's not really worthy of mention on any all-time scale. Overall the caliber of opponent he's been fighting is lower than those Wladimir has fought, and injury blighted Vitali's career.

If you rate Wlad high, then riddle me this? How come Wlad lost to Sanders, was down three times but won a decision vs. Peter, and was upset by Purrity....yet Vitali KO'd Sanders, Peter, and Purrity losing just one round in the process. The gap in competition level between the two is closer than you think. The best fighter either Klitschko fought was Lewis, and Wlad did not fight him.

I think the injuries Vitali had to come back from add to his legacy. You think they blighted his career.

I believe Vitali will retire with several ring records that will not be broken for a long-long time.

I'm talking about the fights they won.
Wladimir has beat more men who I rated high at the time he beat them. Vitali has beat some good fighters too, yes. But I think the gap is significant enough to seperate the two of them.

Being out of the ring for fours years and coming back is a good achievement.
But being active throughout those years and winning is better for a legacy.

    they on some dope.

im going to list a few fighters that would have handed marciano's ass to him:

joe louis, muhammad ali, joe frazier, george foreman, mike tyson....

marciano was a great figher at the time he fought, he more or less fought what was around at the time, but there was no great depth in the division, with dinosaurs like walcott, charles (who had been in brutal wars years before they had even faced marciano), and moore (ancient archie moore), being the primary competition

the only other fighters he faced were roland lastarza (who he had beaten already many years before rockys title defence......and don cockell, who.....wasnt very good at all lol)

so thats about 6 fights after winning the title, over 2 years......

with jersey joe laying an asswhupping on him before disaster struck in rnd 13, and even a battle worn archie moore being able to give marciano all he could handle before conceding in 9.....

rocky was way too easy to hit, and a peak joe louis, muhammad ali, george foreman, mike tyson, would have destroyed him IMO.

I have Rock number one :rofl you must think I'm a complete junky haha - i guess it's what you like - getting back to the thread though - I'll properly rate the Klits when they've hung up their gloves but going on what they've done so far they wouldn't be in the top ten with their loses no and with the loses the a good way from being top ten - to be honest I think people constantly harping on about the Klits on Classic is a complete joke - not exactly the type of fighters who'll be looked back on as classic fighters in years to come - whereas Walcott and Moore - well they don't come much more classic than that :good
