Yes, it'll be an impressive comeback.

But his resume will still suck, and his brother will remain higher on all-time HW lists.

The comeback was already tarnished, because this is his 6th attempt at one...

It will be VITKLIT's single greatest victory, but small when considered with the totality of boxing history.

If he comes back after 4 years of inactivity and being riddled with injuries over and over again at his advanced age and KOs the current WBC Heavyweight Champion? Maybe not one of the best comebacks, but it would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Exactly, Peter would be his most impressive name on his resume but it will by no means give Vitali access to the HOF. That victory will also be somewhat diminished if Peter shows up out of shape. I hope that the last training videos of Peter were misleading and that we will see a motivated Peter like in the second Toney fight.

I really don't think it is anything that very special. It is an opponent he will beat if he is not completely past it physiclly. Peter is made for Vitali in every way. It would be an impressive accomplishment, but nothing incredible in my opinion.

no not really. I don't think Peter is that special at all anyway. If you are using Foreman as a gauge for comebacks then this is no where near.

If Vitali wins he just cements he is the same fighter he was before, nothing more. He needs to defend the title to increase his legacy.

If he comes back and beats Peter, it'll be a good comeback. If he comes back and takes out the division (which I think he could do), it'd be a great comeback.

Very impressive, not quite Leonard's against Hagler (even though I thought Leonard lost that fight), given the quality of opposition - but if he starches Peter, it will be darn close.

Fighters don't typically come out long layoffs and win fights against top level opponents. Usually they get knocked out - which is, btw, what I think is gonna happen here.
