Looks like a long shot but I have been watching Wach and he offers something different he has a long right hand that he can throw with good power, easier said than done to get past Vlads arsenal and Wach gets hit more often than Vlad but if this 6"7 heavyweight gets the win....Is Vlad out of the top 15?

Wach won't last two rounds vs Wlad's offense. But to answer the question, it depends on what Wach ends up doing. If he loses quickly and ends up a marginal top 10 kinda guy, then it hurts him bad.

Badly. Wach is slow as mud and doesn't really seem to be a threat. His best wins are over circus fighters such as Tye Fields and Kevin McBride. Just another lump for Klitschko to look mediocre against, due to his unwillingness to step it up and finish off these type of opponents in devastating fashion.

I don't dislike Wach even if I definitely sound like I do, but he has no business getting a title shot at this stage... If it were not the hollow heavyweight division we are talking about where the best available contenders find reasons not to step into the ring with the champions.

I've only tried to rate Volo on what he's done and how he's done it (about fifteen, for heavies). Losing to anyone doesn't erase what he's already accomplished, who he's accomplished it against or how. Wach is an enormous man who appears to have a very good punch and a solid chin. If he managed to plow through and stop the champ, it will only reinforce what I already believe of Volo. He's an excellent fighter that's going to lose to lesser talents sometimes because of his punch resistance and his poor reaction to getting hurt. So, it change nothing for me, really. I already rate him according to that view.

I always said he's apt to drop one to a guy like an Arreola, a Wach, some kind of inferior fighter to himself because of his weaknesses. Just like Lewis did twice. Only for Kltischko it would be a fourth time. :conf I actually don't think that poorly of Wach. He is ponderous for sure, and at a ridiculous experience disadvantage but looks like a tough kid. He's not that bad. He's just "supposed to be" out of his league with Volo. We've all seen big upsets with guys in most of our top twenties.

I don't think we can call him tough yet, without having seen him against a legitimate opponent. That kind of reputation ought to be earned, even though it seems like Wach has the makings of a tough fighter. But it doesn't always turn out to be the case when you step heavily up in class.

I have enough faith in him not to pull another Mormeck though.

It puts a ceiling on where he can be ranked but that's about it for me.

He's still ruled for 6 years and been incredibly dominant during this time defeating a string of top 5 opposition. He'll probably stay tenth if he loses to wach. Whereas if he beats him and some actual live opponents he can move up the rankings.

Wlad is out of the top 15, Wach is awful, his chin has never been tested which Wlad will do but unless it is made from iron Wlad will win. Out of the top thirty if he loses to Wach in my opinion.

That what if depends on how Wlad lost, what Wach did to win, and what Wach becomes as champion. Its a long shot, but Wach is a durable puncher in his prime, who fights to win.

Wlad is 36 now, which is often an age where many past greats hit the wall. I don't see Wlad losing here. In fact, I think he will have one of his better nights.

It would affect his ranking in a severe way.

If he loses at 38 or so, maybe his ranking won't be so affected because we all know he would be past his best. But losing at 36 against Wach would damage Wlad.

He must be careful with his fights this year and the next one.

It would be cool if he's still champion in mid 2013 (one year from now). His reign would be the 2nd longest after Joe Louis (and probably the longest if you don't count the WWII years were Louis was inactive). He would have 14 defenses or maybe more: enough to declare him an All Time Great, no matter what happens in the future when he's more past his prime.

    Wow, havent pondered this. :blood:D

Does it drop him out of the top 10, not likely. What he's done thus far has fairly well cemented him in the top 10. He is afterall 37 and he aint gonna win forever.:think

And if Wach wins, what if he goes 12-0 afterwards, nailing down defense after defense after defense, in Klitshcko-like work. It's a long shot, but still a possibility. I mean, where would that rank Wach. Well, maybe into the 5-10 slot himself, which could possibly bump one of the Kbros.

I think what ppl, Kbros haterz to be more accurate, fail to realize is that the HW title is locked down now for about 7 yrs. I mean, even before Wlad recaptured it, it was pretty much his and Vitali's division since 2000.
Both took their Ls, but so did Ali, Tyson, Louis, Holmes etc, and no one claims they didnt OWN an era. The K2 have owned this era, since Wlad and Vitali captured their first world titles back in 99/00.:bbb

These same ppl are gonna look back in 20 yrs and be thankful they were around to witness the absolute domination of the K2. Cuz when theyre gone, it's back to the ole......20 titlists per decade again. :-(

If Wach wins....I'd say he's pretty much a lock to hold those titles for a looooong time.....that is until he's stripped of em b/c of politics. And then......look out.....it'll be a HW free for all as the titles get passed back forth, continent to continent, state to state.:rofl

I have him at number 3 by Fleischer standards. Let's see, Jeffries, the greatest HW of all time, was long done by Wlad's age, Johnson had plodded thru a lackluster championship, Dempsey was fully embraced by the comforts of retirement, starlets and VD, Marciano was burying coffee cans of 1 dollar bills all over Brockton and Ali was going against Coopman or the Leon of the Spinks's...

Meanwhile, Waldo has ruled the division for 7 active years...

The hwt division Wlad has been fighting within is the most watered down decrepit mess in boxing history. The result of many multiple champions in every division, corrupt commissions and decades long decline in boxing talent. Just watch both brothers....big and built like Hercules but they do not exhibit all time skills. Walking statues.

I like Vlad big technically in this fight and Wach gets hits with jabs very easily but I won't sleep on Wach, he lays back and does not load up early but if you watch all his fights on you tube you will see he has a few tricky right hand assortments, strait, slightly curved and when he sets down on his right has better than decent power. I like Wach but he is fighting the best in Vlad but Vlad better be careful because when this guy comes out of his naps he is dangerous.

There are unknown factors in this fight

How does Wach take a shot shot (so far pretty good)
    How much will to win
How will his size affect Vlad
So far his pace and stamina have been good, can he match Vlad here

As far as placement if Vlad should lose I think it always depends on how the winners career plays out and that is always a factor
