Not necessarily. It is conceivable that Sanders would have beaten Wlad at any point in the ring, because Wlad had absolutely no idea how to deal with him.

If I recall correctly the only left hook landed in that fight was in the 12th rd and it almost KD Peter.

    Dear God... this again? :-(

For the LAST time... if you turn your back to your opponent, you WILL get his in the side/back of the head. Every time. Guaranteed. And it's legal. Period.

Don't want to get hit in the side/back of the head, then don't turn away from your opponent.

Nothing to do. Vitali hits pretty hard too and that Wladimir's 12th round left hook that almost made us yell timber at Peter is very much more a sign of Peter's vulnerable defense than about Wladimir's or Vitali's shooting ability. If Peter lets those shots get in and hit the temple, hey, even Jameel can drop him or didn't he?

Here's something else - again. If you have a fair point, then so is this. :deal

Clinching has been a part of boxing since before J Johnson to Ali and after. And those 2 HW's were masters of clinching :yep So why do some fans make an issue out of it when Wlad does it? I think we all know the answer. Besides - as so many have already said - Vitali is a different fighter from his younger brother. VK does not look to clinch as much as WK.

Peter's weak points is chin not face. Most of the wlads punch targeting on straight to the face. Older Klitchko is probably learn a lesson and use hooks..

Because punch resistance can fade from fighters?

    Case in point Ricardo Mayorga.

Honestly I think it's because most people want to be pick Vitali but aren't comfortable with predicting a decision. A KO is easier to call due to his heavy hands and Peter's 3 knockdown showing against Jameel McCline.

Damn SW what was that all about. You've had ESB run ins with LG? Do you dislike LL too? He may be the best HW ever... and the K bros nearby.

I suppose it's got to be a Merican HW or else with some fans :-(

At least we had a respectable exchange a week or 2 ago in a similar thread & topic.

Sam Peter will hit you on the side of your head if you turn or don't turn. Usually he hits people first..THEN THEY START TO TRY TO TURN TO AVOID it and he KEEPS on hiiting them behind the head. Watch the Maskaev fight if you don't believe that.

Don't think Peter can take a punch as he did against Wladimir, Vitali's chances are higher here.

Vitalis work rate is was puts any boxer out. Larry Donald, Vaughn Bean and Ross Purity had never been KO´d(think none of them had even been knocked down?), and they´d been up against Holyfield, Riddick Bowe, Wladimir etc. None of them could withstand Vitali´s non-stop heavy punching.

That's true and well known but will he able to keep it up at 37 after 4 years off with career threatening injuries?

Vitali is all bulked up with more mass and power, now. I think he'll be all kinds of aggressive.

To hell with backing up, and to helll with letting a hurt Peter have time to recover.

Vitali will hurt him, and unlike Wlad, Vitali won't hesitate to finish him.
