If Wallin beats Whyte, he basically becomes Fury's second best win.

It's certainly underwhelming, besides Wlad, no question of that.

And if he retires before fighting Usyk or Joshua, or a stack of contenders, then in time it'll get to be laughed at for what it is

 

I agree somewhat about resumes, although Whyte has some losses and a few questionable decisions. I'm kind of basing it off using Fury as a measuring stick, as I dont think Whyte would trouble him in the slightest. Hopefully the Wallin fight will answer some questions.

Despite Wilder having anything but a deep resume, Wall-e definitely doesn't, even if he miraculously deals with Whyte's pressure and beats him.

 

Whyte's resume isn't that stacked. He lost vs Povetkin before he got covid, I don't consider beating Pov after covid much of a win, anyone could have beaten that pov.

Whyte's best win is parker, who isn't really a step up from Ortiz.

 

Whyte's resume is ancient Povetkin (who sparked him out before being hospitalized twice with Covid19), Parker (controversial decision), Rivas and Chisora (controversial decision first fight, good KO in rematch).
It gets a bit overrated, I think.

 

But then, arguably, nor did Wilder....

And whilst Whyte doesn't have the world's best chin, Fury isnt a one-punch KO man either.

Unless you look at resumes, and then you have to admit that Parker is clearly much more proven than Ortiz, with close wins against Ruiz Jnr and Chisora being much more valuable on the resume than Jennings.

 

For a guy that's never had a title shot Whytes resume is very good

Maybe, but we're not talking H2H, we're talking about what levels they're proven at.

I think Whyte Vs Wilder could go either way, though... Whytes chin won't stand up to how hard I think Wilder hits (even though I'm far from convinced it's remotely close to where hype puts it) but then Wilder would struggle with Whyte if he pressures him and Whyte hits a good bit harder than Fury does.

Truth told, Whyte's a clear level up from Ortiz and that puts him firmly within the region where Wilder's level lies - somewhere between Ortiz and Fury.

 

Wilder and Klitschko. No more needs to be said.
