If Wallin had the same cut as Fury it would have been stopped and rightly so. Too much Top Rank money riding on Fury to win against such poor opposition to have made the correct decison in the actual fight.
Dubois will despatch of Wallin inside 3 rounds, it wouldn't make Fury look any good. That's why Frank wont do it. Hearn should be looking to make Gassiev or Hrgovic or Bakole against Wallin as he would be easy fight for any of them and show Fury up in process.
To make this a true inversion, you have to say 'if Wallin was cut but he was dominating the fight and badly hurting Fury to the point where Fury's corner was considering pulling him out ... would they stop Wallin'. People aren't doing a proper inversion when they say Wallin would simply be stopped. They're combining him being dominated by Fury in the second half with the idea he's also cut. If Fury was getting smashed up as well as having the cut, they may well have stopped it.
This. There must be an element of body language and momentum about this in how a ref views the fight and makes a decision on that. My assumption would be that he felt that Fury would take the decision out of his hands my stopping Wallin within a couple of rounds...then it went past that point but by then Fury is dominant anyway and all hell would have broke loose had they stopped it. Fury deserves credit for his reaction to the cut, all fighters react differently, for example Liam Smith vs Liam Williams 1. What I will add is that I thought the cut was handled quite poorly. He wasn’t exactly Kerry Kayes quality.
