Canelo would outweigh Golovkin on fight night.

Canelo was paid a $5 millon gurantee and Cotto got $15 million despite Canelo being the bigger attraction and the fight selling 900K.

Yet GGG won't take more than twice that amount?

GGG and his management are terrible.

Honestly, it really depends on what legacy goals Golovkin and K2 have in mind.

The path of least resistance (POLR) is for Golovkin to obtain a Vlad Klitscho type of pseudo legit award for setting a MW record for defending against even more C/B level opponents.
K2 loves zero risk and the POLR, so this is probably the road the rest of Golovkin's career will follow.

If Golovkin is as great as his mealy mouthed trainer forecasts, then he should follow the frequent, 6-10 fight per path of SRR, whom Sanchez says was not as good as Golovkin.
Today's fighters don't fight up to 15 times per year like Robinson did, but some great ones do like Robinson to move up in weight to fight the best.
There are no legacy making match-ups for Golovkin at 160. His only hope to create a legacy defining "Big Drama Show", is to migrate to greener pastures, the Super MW division.

Cotto had been in with Judah, Mosley, Paulie, Clottey, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Sergio... Cotto was definitely the bigger attraction. Not by a landslide, but he definitely was.

Now examine the picture. First look at the mirror, that flash is low, probably taken by someone shorter than both of them obviously. Secondly it's quite clear GGG is standing behind Canelo at an Angle, now from that picture there it gives the impression to somebody like you, that canelo is half an inch shorter than GGG which is not the case.. Canelo at best is 5'8 GGG is 5'10

    1. They're negotiating, be patient and let's see what comes of it.

    2. Kovalev-Ward being signed a year in advance is not the norm.

    3. GGG is not twice the size of Canelo, his ring weights are lower in fact.

    4. No disagreement there, winning titles at 168/175 seems to be the only way for GGG to be one of the greats.

Obviously he's not twice the size of Canelo but he's quite a lot bigger. Hearn did mention asking for a catchweight, have a look at this article.

Yes, 158. Read the article I posted above.

'Knowing he would outweigh GGG on the night anyway'... so Brook was the bigger man?

Fair play, there wasn't much if any mention of the 158 that I remember but it's there as a quote from Hearn so you are correct it obviously was spoken about.
