I don't agree with this. Ward has a chance to largely redefine his legacy with the Kovalev bout, much like the opportunity Wladimir has before him with the Fury rematch. If Ward beats Kovalev, he will have beaten the best guys at 168 and a very special fighter at 175, widely viewed among the very best P4P in the sport. Of course the gap from injuries and promotional issues will always leave you wondering what else could have been, but the period of inactivity will largely be forgotten if Ward wins - especially if he were to win impressively.
i agree. if ward wins decisively, he legitimizes those that still have him top 2 p4p, even with his absence of a career for the last couple of years. imo, this is the biggest challenge ward has had to face so far. i have kov as slight favorite, so if ward were to school him, i would have no argument against ward being #1 p4p.
That won't happen. The shift has started already. The Chilemba fight is why. These fans will jump to GG and then **** ride Usyk... I see it all unfolding.
C'mon now folks What has Ward done to even be ranked in top 20 P4P ??? Ok he won the super six tourney. That was tailor made for him he was the ONLY fighter who didn't have to travel. How many years ago was this?? What's he done since ?? He fought 4 times in 5 years against club fighter opposition He's living on past memories that's all. If he goes through with the fight I see Kovalev winning by brutal KO BUT!!! As always with me I want to see the best man on the night get the win LEGITIMATELY !! with no controversy & no shennanikins. If that happens to be Ward I'll be the first to congratulate him & call him CHAMP BUT!! Will you be prepared to do the same if Kovalev wins????? MAY THE BEST MAN WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
