    P4P #2?

And before any of you *******s open your pie hole - just remember that your hero is 1-1 in his last two fights.

Whoever wins this fight will be hyped up (deservedly or not) for weeks or months, America can't lose with this one.
One question though, why wasn't Pascal talked about for a spot in this mysterious ranking after he did the business on Dawson ?

Could make an arguement for it I suppose. Unfortuantly many people will claim Dawson was weight drained and thus take away from the win.

We'll see how Dawson fares but honestly, dropping another 7 pounds might be critical for him considering his size. Dawson's used to be a huge LHW.

Thats true. This is one of them things ni boxing- you can argue until your blue in the face how Froch's win over Jean Pascal was excellent- then someone will quickly point out how Pascal's success came 7 pounds heavier. Sometimes you just need to find a middle ground I think, and actually give someone props for beatnig a worldclass fighter. A elite fighter is a elite fighter at the end of the day.

Nope. IMO I think Martinez has the tougher fight a week later so I'd rather have these fights play out first before we worry about who is where, P4P-wise.

Even if Martinez did have a tougher fight (I disagree), Ward has consistently been fighting a higher level of opposition.

I'd give Ward the nod at #2 if he beats Chad impressively.

As P-T said, people will discredit Ward because of the fight being where it is at 168. It's inevitable. Ward has put himself into a lose-lose situation in that regard, so while I may propel him to #2 should that happen, I doubt most will.

That said, I've had a last minute change of heart and am actually picking Dawson now, so if things play out the way I'm guessing, this topic will be moot.

If Ward beats Dawson he will no doubt move up to #2 and possibly #1 To be fair Ward has been more active than Mayweather in recent years (not saying Ward is better).

Interesting. I think Ward wins this rather handily since Chad is lazy in the ring and is out of his best weight class. I'm throwing all my Vcash on it :smoke

Serg has everything stacked against him against JR, whereas it's the opposite in Ward vs Dawson. Just my take.

Doesn't everyone expect Ward to beat Dawson in a wide decison? He is a class above Dawson.

Why are people so keen to move young American fighters up the P4P rankings, some people even rate Dawson as Top 10 which is a bit of a joke.

What about Martinez? He is going to school JCCjr. What about Marquez and Pac who have done more in their careers than Ward and are still looking good. Surely Wlad, who has dominate his divison for years and looks like never losing, deserves to be above Ward who only just broke through during the super 6..

This is a good fight for Ward but Dawson is not the gatekeeper to the P4P number 1 spot. I think Kessler and Froch would both have a good chance of beating Dawson - he is mentally weak and lazy. He got well beaten by Pascal ffs. Or are we giving him a pass for that ****... cause he has "talent"..

I'd move him up to 3 and put him past Martinez who I currently have there and that's even if Martinez beats Chavez Jr. Dawson is a better opponent than Chavez Jr.
    My current top 5 P4P
    1.PBF
    2.JMM
    3.Martinez
    4.Pac
    5.Ward

Dawson was the first man to beat Hopkins clearly since RJJ did years ago.:deal That alone with his resume and skill level place him in the top 10 P4P. I love Frich and like Kessler but Dawson beats both he's a bad style match up for them.
