true about the Marquez/Pacquiao thing but people were funny in counting Marquez out against Manny because of how close their fights were. we don't have the benefit of such hindsight in a Ward/Dawson bout. P4P is all subjective though so there is no right/wrong answer.
Don't know about where he goes on the p4p list and don't care, but if Dawson performs very well and Ward beats him clearly, he's the real deal (an elite - A level fighter) and he's going to be very hard to beat. If he beats Dawson clearly, I'm looking forward to Ward becoming a notable Hall of Famer one day.
Its in Oakland and against a weight drained opponent. It will mean very little. If he fights him again at lhw outside of California, thats an accomplishment.
he could already b der... an irish super star:good [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8AaKds7LqE[/ame]
Why Donaire could be ahead: 1. He has 2 top 10 p4p wins in Montiel and Vic. Sergio has PWill, Ward has Froch, who's borderline (never made it to ring top 10). Montiel was just last year 2. He's done it over 4 divisions 3. He's beaten more current/future champs than the other 2 combined
if ward beats dawson easily he is clearly the P4P #1. his achievements would far outweigh those of mayweather or pac at this point in time.
I still think Froch is a better win than Dawson assuming if he gets past Dawson ( which I think he will Dawson will be way out if his comfort zone during the mauling)and the fight had more meaning. It proved he was #1 at supermiddle.
Given Floyd's inactivity and Manny's recent loss, the winner should be #1. Floyd and Manny then have to fight each other to reclaim top spot.
