If Ward beats Dirrell does the Froch Abraham result matter??

When I say matter in terms of getting into the semi's how does this work? Froch and Abraham are in the top 4 posistions right now and Dirrell is fifth so If Ward beats him does that mean the Froch Abraham fight outcome doesn't matter as both will go through??

I am also basing this on Kessler beating Green of course. Which shuldn't really be a problem.

I started to see a few strange posts on the boards about the super six. Some people saying Ward may not try so hard so that Dirrell can win and go through to semi finals. A fight's a fight. Titles and Pride are on line..to Ward,Froch and Abraham they ain't gonna lose to no man of they can help it.

A win for either man i would think puts them into semi finals :think. To be honest i only been taking it fight by fight.

I'd guess it would matter on who fights who. IIRC its 1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd.

Yeah, I was thinking about this the other day, and Froch can go through with a defeat.

Say Ward beats Dirrell, and Kessler defeats Green then Froch goes through whatever happens against Abraham. But as gaz said, positions between 1 and 4 do matter. If that happened, Froch finishes fourth and would face an away trip against Ward which is a daunting prospect. Having said that, neither Abraham or Kessler would be an easy match for him.

So basically, the result does matter as there are rankings between the top four to decide who faces who. I believe all semis are in the states-even if Froch/Abraham/Kessler face-off? I presume they will do them both on the same night that would be pretty cool.

Though an interesting thing would have been home advantage for whoever comes in the top two, obviously that'll never happen though.

Can't see Froch beating Abraham. I think Ward beats Dirrell so Dirrell takes the exit along with Green. No shame that the two biggest twats in the tournament get put out.

the matrix beats ward, my opinion is that unless you can really hurt dirrell, the matrix out boxes everybody, could fight froch again, and win the full ****ing thing.:good:good:happy

I hope so. Dirrell has his critics but I'm a fan. I'll be supporting him and Abraham.

Seeding will matter, but if Ward beats Dirrell, he's on 2 points and so is Froch if he loses to Abraham, but he'll go through on virtue of winning H2H.

Ward could be 1 shot away from his bubble being burst. He was hurt bad against a journeyman. However at present, he is by far the man and deserves credit. His record recently is RJJ-esque.

The Super Six is 6 of the 7 best fighters at 168 so every fight is serious business. It's a serious tournament producing non stop good fights. Every fight poses different risks. It's great stuff.

I think Dirrell beats Ward to be honest so froch-abraham will have to win. I think Dirrells the best boxer in the tournament. He fought the wrong fight against Froch and it was still real close and he showed how to beat abraham. I still aint sold on Ward. Green was terrible the other week.
