...would you favor him over Dawson?

I'm not saying that it will happen, but in my opinion, while Dawson is a better athlete and has an obvious size advantage, I think Ward is more skilled and will put more on the line to win than Dawson.

Understand that this is my opinion, and it really doesn't make any difference in what you think the result will be...

So basically, I don't any bull**** responses attacking my opinion...

Just say what you gotta say...

Then yes, he would have a good chance against Dawson. Find it hard to see Dirrell looking like an amateur against anyone.

Ward lacks of power against someone like Dawson, who is skilled, athletic and big. I would favor Dawson but for your assumption to work, Ward has first to make Dirrell look like an amateur. I dont think we'll see that.

There is no way he will make Dirrell look like an amateur.

dawson tires easily, so yes, if ward is able to keep it even until the later rds he could win a decision. i think he's slick enough and smart enough not to get caught flush w/ anything devastating. it would be an interesting match up to say the least.

Are we talking 168 and Dawson has to cut weight, or is Ward moving up? In a fight this close it could make a difference.

Right now I'd pick Ward over Dawson at 168, easy.

    at 175, I don't know. Toss up.

Dawson would school Ward. Way bigger, stronger, w/ equal skills.

Nope. Dawson's just too big and skilled to be outboxed by Ward in my opinion.

Ward is a perfect example of how resumes are good to have but they aren't nearly as improtant as what you see with your own two eyes. Most people have him in their top 20 p4p list when in reality he only has one solid win, over a decent but past his prime champion. His skills are immense and he deserves credit for that. If he whoops Dirrell he should be place in the top 10 p4p. I don't think I could favour him over Dawson regardless of how he looks against Dirrell though. Dirrell will give him a lot of the same looks Dawson will so it will be interesting to see how he does.

I think your on the right track. Ward has always seemed a little sharper to me than Dawson, although Dawson has some excellent defensive skills. Its difficult to get a feel for the fight with the lack of common opponents. I feel like I am doing something decidedly wrong picking anyone against Dawson right now.

How is Ward more skilled when Dawson is proven against all types of styles? Not only that but Dawson has a far superior jab, uses height better and doesn't make as many tactical error's as Ward. Ive only seen Ward fight either opponents that had one dominate hand or was one dimensional ( even though Kessler is world class, he definitely one dimensional).

That being said, he IS good and if he actually made Dirrell look like an amateur, then I'll have to give it some more thought. As of now, Ward comes across to me as a fighter who's a very good athlete( with potential) but still very raw. How many right hands did Miranda hit him with? And how many wide looping punches did he throw at Kessler? One thing that you can say about Dawson is that there is no single punch that hes vulnerable too, and his technique is almost always in tact especially when he on his A game.
