Does he surpass FM on the alternative great list? Imo he does. What he did in the Super 6 and beating bigger prime Kova moves him ahead. He also has won all his fights convincingly while FM has had a few controversial ones

Floyd had the much longer career, won championships in five weight classes, and beat so many distinguished opponents, while after Kovalev there's not a lot out there for Ward. So no, Floyd's higher as an atg, and there's not really anything Ward can do about it. I do consider the winner of Kovalev-Ward clearly the greatest fighter of the 2010s though.

After Kovalev, he may fight against Stevenson and Beterbiev (175) and that's it...He spoke about moving at HW, but I doubt it. He would be destroyed, literally. Although, it would be interesting see Ward at Cruiser. Very, very interesting...Of course, he is not natural weight CW, but his wonderful skillset could be deciding factor. And CW is becoming very hot division.

Why did he ducked Bute? The money were there, the IBF title was there for the taking. Nobody ducking bute could surpass IV, let's be serious

lets see, which other titlists fought the other titlists? I know froch and Kessler fought, and ward and froch fought. Carl and Mikkel have warrior status - why withhold it from Ward for doing the same thing?

no others did around that time, did they? its bute who wasn't contributing.

Floyd was in a position to fight absolutely anyone he wanted

He chose the easiest route and avoided the hardest time and time again

    ATG talent but utter chicken****

A win over Kovalev would be a far bigger win than anything on Floyds resume and a real risk of of a fight

But you cant really put a guy whos done nothing for 5 years, refuses to leave his back garden, and offers disgusting slave contracts above even a career coward drug cheat like Floyd

Floyd has had a longer career but he also arguably lost fights (Castillo) and cherry picked the 2nd half of his career. Ward is moving up and fighting an undefeated killer on his prime and dominated the Super 6. Like I said if he beats Kovalev and stays undefeated he surpasses Floyd imo

Of he bests Kovalev that gives him 1 very good win, perhaps even great win. Too add to his collection of good wins like Froch and Kessler.

That's enough to possibly get him into the top 75-100 ATG lists. Possibly.

I would be shocked if Andre beat Sergey. I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd put the house on Sergey. However, if Andre were to beat Sergey, that would be a better single greater win than anything on Floyd's resume, although Mayweather's resume has greater depth.

Going off of top 3 wins I'd say that's debatable. Froch, Kessler and Kovalev against Corrales, Castillo and Hatton. Perhaps Ward wins that one.

Extend it to top 5 and you can add old DLH and old Pacquiao to Floyd's resume. And maybe he comes out on top in that comparison.

Cheers. Like I said, greater depth.
