so...if Kovalev is that far from glory stakes, why even bring up the subject? Beating a guy who isnt even on the ATG radar won't make Ward seem better than he is right now will it?:huh:think:hey

If he beat Kovalev fair, he will be #1 on my list.

    ATGs last 30 years?
    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Marvin Hagler
    Salvador Sanchez
    Michael Spinks
    Tommy Hearns
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Mike Tyson
    Aaron Pryor
    Larry Holmes
    Pernell Whitaker
    Roy Jones Jr.
    James Toney
    Evander Holyfield
    Bernard Hopkins
    Felix Trinidad
    Ricardo Lopez
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Terry Norris
    Manny Pacquiao
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Erik Morales
    Joe Calzaghe
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
    Sergio Martinez
    Nonito Donaire
    Guillermo Rigondeaux
    Roman Gonzalez
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Lennox Lewis
    Sergey Kovalev
    Gennady Golovkin
    Andre Ward

He'd probably be top 30 of the last 30 years. In terms of resume he'd be above Lopez, Calzaghe, Martinez, and Norris.

well kovalev doesn't get credit for beating old Hopkins, no one rates it apart from the fact that he tore Hopkins up, the first man to ever do that.

but joe was just post prime and went life and death with old 40something Hopkins, only managing to rescue a win by having younger lungs, so its not a good comparison at all.

too early to call anyone an atg at 31.

even ali wasn't one at 31, he was merely hof then.

Age has nothing to do with it. Ray was already ATG level by the time he hit 25

    It's about quality of resume.

Ray amassed some insane wins before he hit 26. That's why he's regarded so highly by so many people.

If ward beats kovalev, i have him behind ONLY ggg, ggg is the best, kovalev, ward and everyone knows this fact.

Ward actually fighting kovalev is a whole dufferent story. Ward cleaned out 168 that was a bunch of has beens and never ways. Why he would not negotiate a cw fight with ggg is very telling,

some pathetically are stuck in denialonce 2018 arrives all will be proven. Ive been saying this for years yet nobody is csp able of grasping the facf, unfinished business beeds to be faken care if first.

Stylistically, CEJ is ggg's toughest fight and that certainly includes kovalev and ward, bertz coild be tough for 2,3 rounds but he'll fold from ggg's crazy and calculated way of breaking fighters physucally and even worse mentally.

You'll see, just sit back and enjoy every single thing i claim. Ive never ONCE claimed (anything) that haddened turned to truth, fact

If anyoone can find such a claim that doesnt exist, than ill stfu.

Coccmaater and his pimples can't understand greatness, when normal joes can't understand something they try degrading it.

They are lost, im totally embarrasswd they're fmj fans, probably because he's been a winner and see why. They can't understand the greatness of ggg not never will.

These morones think his defense is so so, its elite of the dlite.

(Greatest mw of all time) already and will be the greatest up to lhw all time by 2018, maybe 2017. If he can vet those converted 4+ defenses to breOk great, once you have the tracking info just text it to me.

    You've been a great help,
Thanksak hols joke of a me reighn.

Hell, no less than 5 ggg ollonentd would trymo ANY if hops 15/16 , max, fighters. He had ti keep recycling c ass fighters ti add to his defense record. Imagine if ggg fought stevens and lemieux back to back to back just to add defenses.

Sorry bad licks since those 2 would ruin every hop mw oplonent.

The only legit obe mercado (sp) had him ktfo and hols had ti maje sure ge c ou k dbt teain gir the rematch...

Time ALWAYS prives me right. Too bad in againat betting or id be sitting gight. I even expected douglas to beat tysons ass, as i had holms killing ronda hype job.

I knew tysons money went to his head and be wasnt some atg that could get away with an jn shale focused hlurnetman.

Because you can see the talent is there and you have to look it like this the krusher is close to his prime and is fighting in a division which is only starting to emerge now. Ward has proven his HOF credentials but a win against kovalev one of the most dangerous guy in boxing atm tips him I'm into top 15 atg list in my books especially coz he has left his prime and is coming off several years of inactivity.

yes there are very rare exceptions, ray being one of them. joe L would be another.

but their resume being packed enough to warrant it IS, and that comes with age. they are correlated, of not related directly.

Wow, that's quite a list. Yeah, Ward is SOL because he's not beating Kovalev and neither is he going to become an ATG on that win.

I don't think Ward is going to beat Kovalev. That's if they ever fight in the 1st place.

Other than Wlad and Bernard, there are no current active ATG's, (I don't count Roy or JT as active) no one is at that level yet. (note ATG not HOF, there's a difference).

A win over Kovalev would go a long way in solidifying his HOF status however. He has an upward climb to beat Kovalev though.
