A fighter should not be DQ for such a punch. It was in the absolute peak of the action and Lemieux went down a bit like on slow motion. I think that at the beginning GGG thought that Lemieux will still be standing when the punch lands. All that said the punch was illegal and Lemieux should've been giving time to recover and Golovkin taken a point.

You on the other hand are probably trolling though. And masterfully trying to get some race bait discussion. So I don't know why I bother to give you a civilized answer.

Well the outcome is very important too. If you KO the other fighter cold the referee doesn't have choice he has DQ you. It was not the case, so it was a bad foul in the heat of the action that deserved a point taken but not a DQ.

I also like the argument a rule is a rule. Well guess what there should not be holding or rabid punching in the fights either. If it was the case though every second Maidana or Mathysse fights are DQ. Every Ward and Wlad fight is a DQ and so on.

I'm a big fan of GGG I don't hide it. But I'm fan of the sport first and foremost. If any of the fighters mentioned by the TS did the same thing I would have the same opinion.

 

When Roy Jones Jr got DQed against Montell Griffin, almost every boxing fan in the world thought it was an unjust decision by the ref.

I'm happy when the ref allows the action to continue, after giving the hurt fighter some time to recover.

The truth is they'd be going ape **** and crying especially if it was against Kovalev, Loma, GGG etc, but in my honest opinion GGG should have got a point taken away and Lemieux should have got 5 mins. That was kind of fked up of the ref to just keep counting when he just took a punch to the face after taking a knee.

 

Lemieux is a true warrior all the others named by the thread starter would still be in the ring rolling around and calling for Dr Shaw Hi.
