How will you feel about the fight if either fighter gets a homestate/town advantage? Will it change your view of the loser if they lose partly due to hometown advantage?
well ward has hometown advanatge in every fight so it would be no suprise to have the final on jokeland.
Of course it does. The Super Six has shown that home advantage is even more important as most thought. If a boxer fights at home in the tourney he always wins. Ward is already called the "American Sven Ottke" by some guys here on the site, and rightly so. If the fight would be held at Nothingham it would give Froch an unfair advantage and the same goes for Ward in California (at least he's not fighting in jOakland this time). A neutral venue (somewhere in Europe, South America, Asia or Africa) is highly preferred
This will benefit Ward, because he does not have to deal with jetlag, and it is much easier for Ward fans to get to the fight etc. However, the disadvantage is not quite as big as if it was in Oakland.
I think Andre Ward would beat Carl Froch anywhere in the world, and I'm not even a fan of Andre Ward.
It takes you two days to drive by car to get from Oakland/San Francisco Atlantic City. It takes 5 hours and thirty minutes to get their by plane according to Google. It takes 7 hours and 45 minutes to get their by plane according to Google. Its not an advantage at all. The same amount of Ward fans from Oakland will be there as there will be Froch fans from the UK.
You are somewhat right. Being on the east-coast there is not that much difference in terms of jetlag. Still - it is in the US (which IS a country) and Ward is American, so of course it benefits Ward. But it could be much worse.
It is contractually agreed to be in the USA, 0% chance it's in Nottingham nor should it be there (or Oakland). AC is most likely, Vegas is still being discussed I think.
Its still the same ****ing country dude no matter how far it is from wards home town! USA. They should of had the match in neutral country.
Including having me and the rest of the Raider Nation in the stands :yep :goodThat's right, welcome to Oakland :!: As far as our city being a joke, we have three professional sports teams, Raiders, Athletics and Warriors. All have great history and have won World Championships. It's also fit enough to host concerts with Paul McCartney, Elton John, Peter Frampton, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd just to name a few. What's happening in your hometown today? :think I'll bet Ward over Froch by wide UD anywhere in the world :hat
