....will that have an influence on how exiteted and interested the us audience will have towards the super six tournyment in the future? i meen being down 0-3 and perhaps loosing faith in there guys. i know the true fans will still folow but the regular american will he still be there....?
lmao... The regular Americans don't give a crap about this tournament. At all. It makes no difference.
here in denmark its THE sportsstory and has been for a couple of weeks now...... is it because Ward and Kessler are unknown or is the regular american just not into boxing?
Just not into boxing. Its sensory overload over here. And Showtime, while popular for shows like Dexter is not widely known as synonymous with boxing. I, however, will watch until the end. I like Kessler and Abraham (unless they're fighting my guys).
When (not if) Ward gets beaten by Kessler that will (not will that) have an influence on how disinteressed (not excited) the US audience will have towards the Super Six... A "regular" American wouldn't know who Ward and Direll are if his life depended on this, and Taylor was halfway interesting when he was the champ, but since he started with getting KOd regularly, the "regular" American has already forgotten who he was... Opposed to such gigantic excitement spreading in the US audience, in Germany, Danemark and England Abraham, Kessler and Froch are at least well known, if not extremely popular...
Andre Ward is an impressive athlete like Andre Berto. Like Berto there is nothing clever in his work. Neither of them know how to feint, instead they rely on beating opponents to the punch with speed alone. Kessler is fast himself, without a massive speed advantage he has nothign to pick Kessler apart with apart from work rate, but such a work rate would be unsustainable. If Mirander landed punches, then Kessler will. Kessler will edge every round except maybe one or two rounds on workrate. If he is aggressive enough he can stop Ward in the middle rounds, however Kessler will be more efficient and I would expect a comfortable points victory where he stuns Ward repeatedly, forcing him to hold on multiple time. Ward is good at holding.
i fully expect Ward to beat Kessler who hasnt fought a legit opponent in 2 years and is really just a European hype creation. I also expect Dirrell to do well against Abraham, although Abraham is probably the best Euro in the tournament. Jermaine is done, Froch proved that he is nothing and I expect Kessler to go back to fighting German journeymen when Ward dusts his ass. So there is no reason to walk away at all, because I wanna see if anyone can crack Abrahams code
Thank you. I've only watched a few of Ward's fights. What strikes me is that he does not seem to be as intelligent in the ring as Kessler. I also think that Kessler's footwork is better and faster than Ward's, but a lot of people disagree with me on this. Their handspeed I would say is almost the same.
Ward's footwork is very good on the backfoot, like most gold medal winners, Kessler is superior going forwards though. Ward on the offense just stands there left knee bend, in a low stance, at a fixed distance throwing long reaching jabs with little potential to cause damage. No feinting, just fast and predictable. If he tries to pressure Kessler properly he'll be countered with relative ease.
Stationary, but not in the pocket, pretty much trying to avoid an exchange. This content is protected At decent range reaching for the opponent, so he can get away before his opponent gets close. No chance of opening Kessler defence up.
