If Ward goes southpaw on Kovalev, it could get intertesting

lol at people thinking Ward will be able to use his clinching.
Kovalev will have none of it. He will be too strong.

Do you think Ward is undersized for this one?

I've heard others say that Ward is the same size as Kovalev. It's not true, is it?

    Ward?

Would you say that Sakio Bika has a fair amount of brute strength?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much brute strength does Sakio Bika have? I'm trying to get a gauge on what exactly you mean by "weak".

Or, while we're on the topic, Carl Froch. Is he "weak"?

It wouldn't help his chin any.

Ward is very strong at 168. The jump to 175 is an important one though. And Kovalev looks very big for the LHW division. So it is something like a big SMW against a small CW. I think that Kovalev will be bigger and stronger in this fight. Now Ward is a special talent and he could've probably made up for this with superior boxing. But with his inactivity I can't see him win. The only way is if Kovalev gets burned out by the very hard schedule if he tries to fight Stevenson in the fight before Ward.

I'm kind of thinking along these lines as well.

Going southpaw will help him deal with the jab but it just lines him up for the huge right hand. He shouldn't get cute and get away from what got him there.

If bernard couldn't hug Kovalev to death then Ward has no chance .

no doubt it's a tall order for Ward and he is clearly the smaller guy. And although he was strong at SMW, I agree, Kovalev is just a much bigger guy and will be hard to "rough up". Still, Kovalev's inside fighting is untested and Ward may try and see if he can have success on the inside.

But Bernard didn't even try to hug Kovalev, however. Not once. He may have considered it too dangerous to get that close.

Ward is a tough fxcker. It would be a shame if this fight never happened.
