At SMW, Dawson has done nothing, will be out of his usual weight class and remember that Dawsons big wins are over fighters like Johnson and Tarver 14/15 years older and Hopkins who was 18 years older. Adamek wasnt a good LHW. When Dawson fought a young LHW he got beat (Pascal). At SMW, Dawson has no pedigree of note
Kessler was a bigger win that Froch for Ward. Kessler has a greater SMW resume and beat Froch. At SMW, Dawson has no pedigree of note far less than Bute at the weight
So let me get this straight...By skipping to fight Bute to take on a much accomplished fighter somehow is gonna hurt Ward's legacy??? :rofl
Froch got schooled IMO it was a clear beating. Ward was just too quick on the outside and too cagey in the inside for Froch to have that mid range to get his own shots off. Maybe in Nottingham the fight would be a little different, but I still think Ward is just too slippery to be caught flush. This is true. Dawson is probably the toughest task Ward has been assigned. (Other than the S6 tournament) Bute is coming off a loss, Dawson is coming of a win. Some may want to say what has Dawson done in the 168 division, I dont really care about that, Dawson is a class operator. I still think Ward beats him comfortably.
Thats the whole point...Stylisticly, Dawson is a far more harder task than fighting Bute. I dont care what these dudes on here say...He will cause way more problems to Ward than Bute! Its clear as day.
Triangle theory? I'm just saying beating an undefeated champ at your weight is better than fighting a champ who's already been beaten and moving down to fight you.
No People would have said Bute was a glass jawed hypejob just like they're doing now after Froch trashed him.
ward dominated both froch and kessler, didnt fight bute, and now he's facing a light heavyweight champion and proven fighter in chad dawson. no need to face bute.
I agree. I think there would have been a far bigger buzz if Ward had of been fighting undefeated Bute
