In no world is beating Bute a better thing for your legacy than beating Dawson.

    that is ridiculous.

Concur. Bute wins 4 rounds at the very best. Probably wore of a 117-111 afair with a possible late stoppage.

if Warddke would have fought Bute and took his 0 then Ward would had become undisputed and i would have said he's bigger than Calzaghe.but being a coward disgrace who only fights if he has some advantage over his opponents i can help but put him in the Sven Ottke category.draining Dawson and make him come to your backyard,as always, means **** to me and everybody who's not a complete moron.had he gone up to 175 and took Dawson's belt in Hartford,Las Vegas or AC would have been diferent story, but we all know Sven Warddke doesn't play like that.

please Failey. u wouldnt give him props no matter what.

anyway, a win over Dawson tops everything hes done including a Bute win.

theres still a chance for a Bute fight in the future. but its not as hyped because bute is no longer champ or undefeated.

Dawson is 0 at 168.Warddke is olympic champion at 175 yet Warddke is draining Dawson and make him come to his backyard.this tell you all you need to know on how Sven Warddke is planning his figths.i wouldn't be surprise if he demands in his contract to wear horseshoes in his gloves, cause Dawson is the biger man.

I think it would have been right up there with Kessler as his biggest win and may have ended up being the biggest, depending on the fashion of the victory .

Don't see where Ward "seemed concerned" about the prospect of fighting Bute. He told him to prove himself against a top fighter and then they'd fight. (which he obviously failed to do, and in that regard it backfired on Ward).

But why would Ward "duck" a guy, only to fight him after he had proven himself by beating a top fighter?

I think you are interpreting negotiation ploys and the extracurriculars that
often go into building a fight as Ward ducking Bute.

I don't wish Ward had taken on Bute before he got waxed by Froch, if for only to get more unifications. However, Dawson is a true test, regardless of the Bute situation. So I don't see how aspersions can be cast about a guy's willingness to take a tough fight, when in his next fight he takes on a stiffer challenge than the guy he is being accused of avoiding.

The only thing is that Ward lost a substantial amount of money by not fighting Bute right after he won the Super 6. The fight against Dawson might be with the two best fighters at 168 and 175, but it won't bring the same amount.

This is true, but he was dealing with the broken hand. And there was the whole Showtime contract thIng to consider. Bute losing really threw a wrench in making that a fight in the future.

if Ward would've fought with Bute before Froch , I think that fight would've been a 50/50 fight due styles of both fighters and because Ward isn't a puncher.
I read that IBF wants Froch to fiight with Kessler in October and Bika vs Stevenson in August to designate the no.1 mandatory challenger for Froch's or (Kessler's) IBF title.
Pavlik said that he isn't interested of Bute since he lost his strap and he (Pavlik) has tons of venue and financial demands.
Now , I wonder if they have a strong rematch clause in the contract , they can't make the rematch between Froch and Bute in Canada without that IBF strap to be involved ?? A no title fight , only for Bute, to avenge his loss !!

I dont think Ward dominated Bika. I know what the judges cards said and what they said against Froch. But with Ward against Bika, Bika looked to be knocking Ward around in round 12. It didnt look a dominating win over Bika to me. But a win all the same.

Why do you pretend Froch is your favourite fighter?

    :patsch WTF

How is Butes style now made for Ward?
Is that why when Ward had no opponents he didnt want Bute to face him in Oakland

Ward is still the best SMW right now and of all time. Ward will beat Dawson and then move on to more challenges. Dawson is much better than Bute overall.
