If Ward wins it will be the best win of the last 10 years. No question.

If it's a clear win I'll likely rate it as the best win of the 2010s for whoever wins. Above Floyd-Pac because that came 5 years too late and Pac had been knocked out by Marquez (and schooled in the third fight). Ward and Kovalev are in their primes. They both have really good resumes and the winner will have a great resume with a win. No one's been able to solve the puzzle that is Ward's brilliant boxing brain and no one's been able to deal with the complete offensive game and power of Kovalev. Someone's going to prove himself better. This is as good as it gets.

Both ways, it will be huge win and I would put it, top 10 definitely. I can´t even predict the winner anymore.

To me, Rigo vs. Donaire must be #1. Both were in their absolute peak and their natural weight class. My top 3:

    1.Rigondeaux vs Donaire
    2.JMM vs Pac IV
    3.Gonzalez vs Estrada

Pacquiao vs Morales, Pacquiao vs Barrera and Pacquiao vs Marquez are all big wins; prime fighters facing each other. Definitely top 10 material.

Hopkins vs Tarver happened just a bit over 10 years ago (10years 5months) so it may not be considerate but it was a huge win anyway.

Martinez vs Pavlik was very good win for Martinez. Martinez beat the bigger man and won the linear MW title.

Fury vs Klitschko is a big win, but Wlad was not in his prime and all together, there are still a lot of question marks.

Calzaghe vs Hopkins happened at least 5 years too late. Both fighter were past their prime, although they were still pretty good.

Pacquiao vs Cotto is very good win. If they had fought at 147, it would be top 3 win.

Ward vs Froch is pretty good win in general, but Froch wasn´t exactly a dominant, unbeaten, especially talented and flawless fighter, did he?

Canelo vs Lara could have been a big win, but wrong man won that night. Its like DLH vs Tito all over again.

Cotto vs Martinez could have been a big win, but Martinez was 50% of his best - literally.

This fight will be basically Mosley vs De la Hoya without such media hype. It doesnt matter who wins, it will be biggest win since JMM vs Pac IV, most definitely.

Pacquiao Cotto up there for me.

I think Ward will win a wide UD, should be a great fight.

It will be a big win but not as big JMM vs Pac IV or Rigo vs Donaire.

If it's a one sided UD it won't be a dominant fight not a great one.

cowardzaghe going life n death split dec with old Hopkins is in but no one else who beat Hopkins more clearly is? terrible bias, so much so that's its obviously false.

and beating a 40something is in no way a great win, although it is arguably joe cowardzaghes best win, since he has nothing else on his resume to compete with it apart from beating injured Kessler in Cardiff.

Boxing has a way of remembering what the circumstances of the fight were.

Manny Pac had been through tens of wars. Was visibly declining by 2012. And was suddenly no longer the sports most vicious finisher by the time of the 4th Marquez fight. Not to mention Marquez clearly roided.

Sergey Kovalev has shown no such vulnerabilities yet. He hasnt aged yet. He hasnt been in wars. He hasnt lost.

I would rate this win up there with the other great wins of the last 10 years. Like Margarito Cotto I. Pacquiao Cotto. Rigo Domaire. Williams Martinez II.

But I would put this straight at the top. Because Kovalev is a very good fighter and also fighting in his optimal weight class.

Biggest win of his career no doubt about and I think he has a good chance to do it.
