If Ward won the Olympic Gold Medal at 175, why does he refuse to fight Kovalev?

I haven't heard anything more, but I believe it will happen eventually.

But I'm just sick of these fans that have no respect for the fact that everyone's circumstances are different.

We live in a society that's so inpatient, and if they don't get what they want, it has to be someone's fault, and then that person gets hated on. It's a joke.

Why on earth would Andre Ward pursue a Kovalev fight at this point?

He's said that if/when he leaves SMW, he won't want to go back.

So what would happen if he beat Kovalev now?

If GGG and DeGale became big fights at SMW and they called him out, all of these guys would be demanding that he moved back.

And what would happen if he said no, because he was comfortable at LHW?

He'd be accused of being a ducker, and would receive hate.

Some of these guys on here are jokers.

If Ward was currently a LHW, and it was clear he was ducking Kovalev, then fine, you could criticise him.

Likewise, if he never moves up to LHW, you can criticise him.

But at this moment in time, people should respect his and Hunters decision, and just hope that he remains active and is in good fights.

If these guys knew anything about the business side of boxing and were Ward's promoter/manager, the last thing they'd want at this moment in time would be a Kovalev fight.

Accusing Ward of cowardice is a big injustice check most of his fights he never shy away from fighting anybody one more thing don't try to bully him in the ring he got the tools to outmuscle you.

 

He got tools to outmuscle smaller guys he was facing at 168. No way he can outmuscle Kovalev to say nothing of Beterbiev.

If Ward moves up, he will be cherry picking feather-fisted opponents in the next 2-3 years and will then retire.

 

Golduckvin/Ward is a money fight. If Ward fights and defeats Kovalev at LHW I think Golduckvin and his fans will say Golduckvin shouldn't have to fight Ward because he is now a LHW and beat the champion of that division. If Golduckvin was really the monster his fans say he is, fighting Ward at 168 should be no problem for him. Clearly his team and his fans are not so confident though.

 

But if neither of GGG/Ward or Ward/Kovalev ever happens then each one is equally as much of a duck as the other correct? :think
