He's only fighting Brook because the Eubank fight couldn't be made.

Realistically, to keep his HBO date, he'd have had less than a week to have found someone suitable, who was also available.

I'm not high on this fight, but why turn down a huge PPV fight and the chance to fight in the U.K.?

I'm a big fan of Billy's, but a part of me wouldn't have minded if he'd lost to Andy Lee. Andy Lee would have gone to war with GG.

Looking from Billy's perspective, it's not in his best interests to fight GG, especially as GG holds the other main belts. If he were to lose comprehensively he'd be completely shut out.

I can't blame him for not wanting the fight.

He'll only take it for a huge money. That's fine, apart from you've got to ask where the huge money is going to come from. I think the only way it happens is if GG comes back to the U.K. and the fight is either huge after the the Brook fight, or he's willing to give Billy the bigger share.

I can tell you that Billy was never an option to fight GG on HBO's September date, even if there'd have been huge money on the table for him.

He's taking a tune up in Setember after 7 months of inactivity.

It appears as though Eubank Snr was absolutely impossible to deal with.

    Look into it.

The things I've read are mind boggling.

He didn't choose Brook over Eubank, he chose Brook because the Eubank fight couldn't be made.

    Look into it.

Eddie Hearn says Eubank Snr wanted to control every aspect of the promotion, that included doubling the ticket prices and the PPV.

As yet, Eubank Snr has not publicly denied any of this.

    Why?

To my knowledge, Eubank Snr hasn't even denied any of what Eddie has said.

With time on his side, yes, he maybe could have found a better opponent. But again, not with only 9 weeks notice.

He has every right to try and fulfil his goals at MW.

The Brook fight is disappointing, but it's only due to circumstances, and it's better than a no name mandatory who he'd only get slaughtered for fighting.
